"AI" in a toothbrush? Marketing bullshit. Might as well say my soup ladle has AI.

    • This is so gimmicky and an overkill not worth the price. Unless you desperately need a colour display on a toothbrush (!), manual sync with your phone app (because you need to open the app each time you brush, otherwise it doesn't register) or expensive brushes, go for any older and cheaper models that can tell you with a simple LED if you're pressing too much and that's it. Like this: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0794P46R8

Greatest improvements would be if this could store your brushing data and had USB-C charging, both eg. for travels.

    • If you use this toothbrush maybe you'll end up with a straight white teeth, LOL.

  • The smiley face help get the kids to brush their teeth haha

  • Anybody knows what's the difference amongst IO, Genius, and Smart series?

  • I finally upgraded from my 8000 after several years to the iO 7 in December, and hate to say it but there's a huge difference. Can not go back to the older model series which feels way too abrasive now.

The only issue are the brush heads prices, but still worth it for my dental health and they will become cheaper as more people adopt the iO series.

I wanted the iO 9 as I believe it has better 3d tracking, also I think there is an iO 10 with a charging dock that is a screen… it's super extra but if anyone wants one and finds one close in price, I'd recommend that. The screen can help you see how many minutes it's been etc

    • I got an iO6 and followed the pressure sensor but I find it too harsh on the gums using daily clean. is it just me?

      • I think I am just so used to the Genius line which I find super harsh. Could you try one of the lighter settings?

        • yup. will explore the options. currently, I just dont mind the sensor at all

    • I don't second that at all.

I agree that the standard, expensive brush for this new one is softer, but if the previous models were too abrasive, all it took was to get a softer tip. The timer on the brush itself is pretty useless, as you can't see it while brushing - you need to pause the device, take a look at it, switch it back on (otherwise splatters a lot). You can also brush with your phone app on, but I imagine only hardcore enthusiasts or clinical cases do that every brushing. Pressure sensors are in the older models too and some of them also offer different brushing programs (like softer, harder/polishing) at significantly lesser price.

This one is way overpriced for the semi-useful gimmicks it offers.

I need a toothbrush that is smart enough to yell at me for accidentally using my wife's instead of my own

That would be the Oral-B iO 15 Pro Ultra

  • this is for 1 toothbrush?

    • No, this is for:
      1 Power Brush Handle
2 iO Clean Black Brush Heads
      1 Magnetic Charger
      1 Brush Head Holder
      1 Charging Travel Case

  • magnetic technology bwah hahaha!!!

I'd rather rgb shapes on my gaming wall.

    • It is to do with the brush's motor and is supposedly much quieter than the other models

  • Oral-B iO 10 (with iO Sense) will be out soon.
Probably will be priced at something crazy like $1000 to start with.

  • Brush heads are even more expensive than I thought. $59 for 4 at Chemist Warehouse. It's easily a 2-year supply for one person though.
