I'll admit the price isn't an amazing drop or anything based on BGO's price history but it is the lowest price according to their records especially if you can pick it up at your local BigW (keeping in mind while the min did sit around $32 for a while, those stores charge ~$10 for shipping.)

It is a clearance item too, so you can only get this price if you pick it up or get it home delivered (I guess that means it's not this price on the shelf?). Seemed to be a bit of stock around Australia. Usual caveat with clearance items, it may not be this price even if your local store has it, but the couple I checked in Vic and NSW had the same price.

Honestly not sure why I'm buying it but it looks like it could be fun with the toddler (perhaps when he's a little older). He definitely likes building and knocking stuff over. Should scratch that nolstalgia itch and any time spent doing something together and away from screens is a win in my book.

Currently rated 7.3 on BGG. Some good reviews on BGG. There is also a very short video of the gameplay on the BigW page. I think that last image includes the expansions. We don't get all that stuff.

  • Would a 7 year old with adhd like this?

  • bought one! thanks OP!
also thanks for the link for checking price history! didn't know I needed this.

    • Quality seems good. Box is surprisingly heavy, at least to me. All the blocks have a bit of heft to them which I guess is needed otherwise the game would be over super quick. The catapult mechanism is pretty simple but feels pretty good. We only tried from a very short difference and only made the wall one block wide so it wasn't too hard to knock stuff over with a decent hit.

I imagine when you have a better built wall and are shooting from further away you will need to aim a bit better. Hopefully encourages the kids to put their thinking caps on to find better ways to build a wall. So far our toddler isn't super excited about it (which is fine really, he's too young to play it) but I had a bit of fun playing with it.

      • Agreed, i opened up the box and the quality of the materials are quite good. The 6 year old is definitely keen to try so we'll try and play it over the weekend and see how sturdy the walls are. Seems pretty straight-forward so should be a good entry game for kids!

Also, the link you shared seems to indicate that this is the lowest price. or am i missing something?

        • Maybe my post was a bit confusing. This is the best price but historically the lowest price has been around the $30 mark for a while but I think a lot of those other stores have ~$10 shipping which makes this price stand out a little more.

          • @ozbs25: yeah I re-read your post and saw that this was indeed the lowest price according to BGO's price history.
not sure what all time lowest price is but this was good enough and had 10% discount to use as well
