Pretty good reviews for what it is :)

it's published by Stonemaier Games who published Wingspan, but it's not the same creator (Elizabeth Hargrave). Thanks @Dominus

While this is a good price compared to the RRP, it does seem to get discounted very heavily from time to time. Would not surprise me if we see it cheaper during their Big Smile Sale (if they run it again this year). If they do repeat The Big Smile sale, it should start in about a week.

    • Yeah I paid $18.89

Yeah, I paid $20.65 then saw it go cheaper still. The game doesn't seem to be as well received as some of their other games but when it's this cheap it's hard to pass up. I just need to play some of the games I buy…

  • Minor correction - it's published by Stonemaier Games who published Wingspan, but it's not the same creator (Elizabeth Hargrave). Not a ding on the game though, Jamey Stegmaier was the designed for Scythe which is a cracking game in its own right!

  • Big big fan of the novels. Good game?

    • Not particularly. It's got some interesting unique mechanics, but is a bit too luck driven. It's also overproduced, for example helium (represented as Red gems), fleet strength, and influence (coloured cubes) seem exciting but in reality are just several different types of score tracks. The theme is quite loose.

The cards are enjoyable but it's hard to plan for anything. For example, many cards rely on the presence of Darrow or other main characters but there's only 1 in the very large deck and he could be removed from your hand.
