This really is self-eplanatory.

Sony Walkman NWZ-A866B Walkman MP3-/Video-Player (32 GB, 7,1 cm Touchscreen, USB, Bluetooth, FM-Tuner) black

  • Slightly OT… but do Sony make any good digital radio walkmans?

If this had digital AM it would be fantastic.

    • I am happy with mine but all a matter of taste and very subjective.

i dont see why you would buy this over the z series?
z series run android and are rated as one of the best sounding mp3 players on the market =)

    • Price?

      • The Z series can be had for $250. Sure it's the 16gb model but I think the android part of it makes it worth while.

And yes Sound quality on these things are unmatched.

    • Size and portability?

I heard the hard buttons are a bit buggy on the z series, so you still need to take the device out of the pocket to change songs.

I like changing songs without having to take the device out

Also the z series screen is HUGE

Good for at home device, but the a series is just more portable

X series is one of the best if you can still find them

      • I heard the hard buttons are a bit buggy on the z series, so you still need to take the device out of the pocket to change songs.

You'd have to do that with a touchscreen anyway.

        • Not with the A series that the OP is posting.

You can keep it in the pocket and change tracks.

Not taking sides, but why would someone pay this much for a sony mp3 player when an iPod touch is the same price. It's not like it's even on android to play any games?

Correct me if i'm wrong though, I'm just interested :)

    • For people who want good sound, iPod touch hardly cuts it. Besides not everyone needs a device with an OS.

i have a samsung galaxy s with the voodoo sound app(need to root to install) and poweramp player - the sound quality is miles ahead compared to what it sounded like out of the box. I use UE600s earphones.

I use an ipod classic myself. not satisfied with the sound/output.. I port it around with my fiio e17 for a bit more juice and still not really satisfied.. however I need the space and the 64gb sony z is around 400 and not sold in australia.

Ipod touch and Sony's good models both have clarity but the sound signature of Sony devices especially in the area of bass leaves everyone else behind except maybe cowon in good sound

      • Eek no need to neg me everyone I was just wondering, and that answers my question perfectly thanks :]

        • Not sure who did but it was.nt me mate. I own an ipod touch too

Doesn't everyone have smartphones these days??

Some people prefer dedicated music players, and for that matter, dedicated cameras.. no matter how well they can instagram ;-)

  • great found, chasing this model for long time,a series is better than z ,lol..

Awww how cute, Sony still think the Walkman brand is relevant and marketable.

  • Walkman's are still good imo, I've had my http://www.sony.com.au/support/product/NWZ-S739F since late 2008 and mine is still going strong. Out of all the electronics I've ever owned during that time this thing has bugged out the least. It just works well and there's no screwing around with itunes or that crap it's just drag and drop and that's why I love it.
