  • Cheaper elsewhere?

Although there's also a free shipping offer.

  • cheaper for melbourne customer to goto i-store.com.au and pickup from lonsdale street for $59.00 cheapest postage from the advertised wesite to melbourne is $10.16 - hardly a bargain, just marketing….take it off!

    • $54.95 with free shipping coupon code PAYPALFREESHIPPING?

      • Definitely. With free shipping it is even cheaper than IT-box. Too bad that I don't own a computer with PCI slot, if you don't include that dust-sucking 5 year old server sitting behind my desk…

        • actually sorry, i just doubled check. The Free Shipping coupon code doesnt include the sound card category =(

          • @Mwave: I've been shopping on your site, and probably spent over a $1000 in total so don't worry, you do have some fans here :)

I want to know, even with our dollar being so poor, you've raised your prices on many items, even on cases etc. Will you lower them when the Australian dollar rebounds?

I've become frustrated with the prices because after I buy from your online store, the prices drop significantly and then stabilise for the next 6 months (so really only I take the hit, no one else). Even on cases and miscellaneous items. I know prices drop in the computer industry (especially ram, processors, hard drives etc), but I'm always stung more from your store than others. I bought my case from you for over 500 dollars as it was a specialised case, and then a short while after it dropped to $340.

Being a case, you don't expect a massive price drop (not like ram, processor or hard drives). I say this because now I want to buy a second case from your site, which used to be 65 bucks with a free tool kit, now the tool kit is not offered and price has been raised to 75, and then 85. It's as if any time I want to buy from your store, the price either goes up (like now for instance), or will drop 2 weeks after I buy and then the price will stabilise so no one else will take the hit.

You offer great service, but it's just really disheartening for me to continue purchasing from your store hence why I've stopped.

            • @Kranbone: Thank you for feedback. Please give us a call on 1300 727 446 to discuss what case you want to buy and we can double check on the prices for you. Or you can just simply email to [email protected] if you any questions about the pricing too.

Just wondering what care are you interested in buying? I do know we have some Lian-Li cases going clearance…

              • @Mwave: About 2 months ago (maybe less) I called up in the hopes that you may be able to adjust the price, but I got a firm quick no. Is there any chance that you'd consider this now? It's actually a GigaByte case. If the price can't be adjusted, I don't mind waiting, even if it's for a year as I've been stung so many times.

  • i-store is selling $99, where did you see $59?

  • Be wary guys, although this seems to be a bargain, this card doesn't actually use a X-Fi processor. What you are looking at is a rebadged Audigy SE soundcard.

"The entry-level model of the X-Fi series, the Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio, does not actually have the EMU20K1 chip but is a re-branded Audigy SE, using the same family of chips (CA0106-WBTLF), and even the same drivers.[14] Thus, not only is all of the X-Fi–related processing performed in software, but it also lacks basic hardware acceleration just like the SB Live! 24-bit, the Audigy SE and other budget Soundblaster models." -Wiki

If you want to upgrade your inboard sound I suggest looking at the 'X-Fi Gamer' as that is the cheapest entry level X-Fi card which actually consists of X-Fi circuitry.

  • The hardware on this card is junk, would be no better than integrated audio. Unless you have no remaining PCI slots go buy a far superior Audigy 2.

  • Compared to high def audio on mobo this is alot better.
u hear the bass alot better u can see if the artist wanted a long or short bases in a row.
    games sound alot better.
    things sounds crisp.
CPU usage is few % lower.

Downside: run a little hot next to the High end video card.
