      • There's a small risk your code getting hacked, its safer to load it to your apple account.

  • Thanks. $500 x2 went through with NAB no problem. Cards followed about 10 minutes later

  • +1

I wonder which ozbargainers bought the highest value, seen someone buying 6k worth in the comments. Anyone buy 10k and above? If so, I'm curious as of what you wanna use it for?

    • +1

There is no limit to how much you can buy with this deal.
Some people may be going crazy since this is the first time we have seen a deal like this after the restructure of Apple GCs.

    • how about a survey link?

      • someone said he did $40k and still going lol

  • -4

    I bought 80K worth

    • Clearly not enough, should have really went in and stockpiled for the winters.

    • +1

      Username checks out

    • +1

What the hell is even that?

  • Thanks OP. Just ordered $1500 (3x $500 over 2 transactions) on ANZ Visa without issue.
Worked on Desktop fine but not on phone for some reason - failed at the OTP challenge.
    Waiting on email delivery.

    • And received within the hour - no complaints. Great deal, thanks OP!

  • What's the best option for getting MBP 14" M2 base model? Using AOC with this Gift Cards?

    • +2

Consider a refurb M1 Pro 14" unless you really want the M2. The base model goes for $2299 on the refurb store which is a substantial discount over the M2 equivalent even on the AOC store.

    • +1

Purchase gift cards to the value of your chosen machine. Add to your Apple ID balance. Wait until JB or Good Guys has a 10% off Mac sale, then call Apple and price match. Pay using your Apple balance. Final result is a little over 20% off the retail price.

      • Someone previous advised that you don't add them to your Apple ID balance otherwise you can't use it in store or online to purchase apple products. Just read another comment and it says you can do that and use it online only but not in store. Don't think I'll load it on my Apple ID just in case there are issues.

        • +1

You can buy online for click and collect if it's on your Apple ID balance, but cannot walk into a store and pay for an item. Nothing wrong with putting on your Apple ID if you're OK with that caveat, it doesn't even stop you actually collecting the item in store, you just need to order it online first.

        • +1

It's much easier to negotiate a discounted price match via phone rather than instore. As you can click and collect, I can't see an advantage to using the cards instore, hence my recommendation to add to your Apple ID credit.

Too many salty AF people here

    • Not helped by you trolling either.

    • Exactly 80k salts.

  • +2

The deal is still going. Originally expected oos in a few hours.

Does Apple has cash flow issue?

    • +1

      expecting price hike soon

      • Based on what credible source?

        • Gut feeling since this deal is not yet expired

  • Bought 2 this morning and they arrived fairly quick, within 10minutes or so.

    • Yep likewise. Hell of lot faster response today. CBA Visa card, no issues.

  • +4

This deal is even advertised in Daily Telegraph newspaper today, so there must be lots of discounted digital Apple GCs that Coles are preparing to sell.

  • I caved in this morning, after undecided last night, went and bought the 7th and 8th card for good measure. Surprised it's still there. Go for it guys.

  • Question for the masses, do you think this is going to be the best discount you're going to get on an iPhone 14 pro (or whatever) this year? Does anyone think June Telstra day will bring anything better like those iPhone 13 deals?

  • Works for cba cards too, I used it via chrome on iPhone

  • +1

Stocked up for the iPhone 15 release later this year :) Thanks OP!!

  • Can I load the gift card into my itunes account and pay with those itunes funds at the apple store?

    • +4

No, once you've redeemed into your iTunes account, you can only buy on Apple.com/au, or the Apple Store app (or maybe when calling 133 622) - you can't go into an Apple Store and spend your iTunes balance there. Only unredeemed gift cards can be used in an Apple Store.

You can buy online for pickup in store though.

      • -1

When I asked at the apple store, they said only physical gift card is accepted in store. If you have an e-giftcard like this deal, you will have to order it online - delivery or C&C

@dingdong3000: I did not want to argue with them since what I needed was not in stock at the time. However, that is what they told me when I asked.

            • @legelas: Order over phone. Price match with JB or Officeworks (as they are authorised resellers). so if you need a 14 vanilla at the moment, you can get 128GB for ~$1103, pick up or delivery from your local apple store. For a 14, if you don't kneed pro motion, the camera setup etc. then this is a good deal imo. but it's < 6 months until 15 comes along, so it might not be worth buying a P/PM since USB C is reportedly coming.

  • Picked up a chunk for a new iPhone in September, delivered within minutes. Does feel like a sketchy time to be buying giftcards with GFC 2.0 on the horizon though…

  • -6

Good if you want to purchase something right now but not a good idea to hold onto these. Heading into a massive, massive economic downturn, banks collapsing in the US, these cards could be cancelled at anytime. buyer beware

    • only if Apple collapse

      • At this point i'm not saying anything is impossible. This is the bleakest the foreseeable future has ever looked. Recession, financial collapses, war looming. it's all happening right now

        • +4

if those happen, several thousand dollars in gift card is the least concern. BTW your downvote is not from me

        • You mean anything is possible? Because if you decided not to "invest" your money in these discounted gift cards for future purchase, and save your money in your bank, there is a possibility your bank may collapse and you risk losing your saving too.

    • If this deal was on GCs for another company like Kogan, Good Guys or Harvey Norman then I wouldn’t have given it a look. It’s Apple we’re talking here. Imagine if they cancelled these GCs, the uproar and market speculations which would result in the repercussions of their stock values. It will then send the global tech sector stock market (including China’s) into meltdown.

      • Australia isn't that important, they can cancel and provide refund without much fanfare.

Besides Coles is selling the gift cards not Apple.

  • +5

Checkout successfully for another $500 GC with the same credit card I used for 6x$500 GC yesterday. I have to stop visiting this post again or I will keep buying these GCs.
    I can’t control myself!

    • +1

@FrugalNotStingy Thanks for contributing to another rise in the interest rate. Happy shopping.

    • I’m controlling myself to not buy a Mac Studio.

I hope this deal ends soon. :/

      • +4

It will end after you have bought a Mac Studio ;p

      • Wait for M2 (or even M3 if they skipped the M2) Mac Studio if you’re not in a hurry.

      • Buy it already or this thing will never end!!!

    • It seems that you enjoy the sense of accomplishment that comes with successfully completing a purchase. Purchase 2 x $500 GC each day.

      • It’s not like I have a checkout success clicking addiction. I am just happy to see this rare special is still on after 24 hours.

        • I am just as tempted to stock up as you are, considering a deal like this may not come again for a long time.

Since I don't have any major purchases coming up other than a new phone and a possible M3 iPad, I am not that keen to have my funds locked up with one vendor.

          • @DoctorCalculon: I’ll see what they’ll bring out for the iPhone 15 before I will consider if I will upgrade or not. iPad Pro I don’t really care about if they’re not coming out with a redesign (though I might get the 11” if they have the mini-LED screen).
With these ARM chips, they’re just annual incremental upgrades to compete with the competition and to satisfy the fanboys to get the latest and greatest. I don’t see a need to upgrade the devices every year with each new release.

    • Get married!

  • hmm how long did you guys have to wait for the cards to be delivered?

It's been 20 mins since I paid but still no email confirmation or cards …

    • Same here, it's been an hour for me.

      • they say within 4 hours

    • Can vary between 10 mins to 6 hours.

      • all good! Received them all in good time…bring on Iphone 15!

  • Apple WILL price match JB and HN over the phone. Currently $50 off some Apple Watch models.

    • Do they do iPhone price match as well? Also if you load all your gift cards into the app store can you pay over the phone with the Apple balance as well?

      • They price match over the phone (as long as apple reseller, so the big ones like JB, HN, OW etc.) Not sure on the second, although they did ask for an Apple ID for the order process, I suspect they might be able to.

However, to be safe, i just read out the gift card codes and it didn't take up too much of the customer rep's time. Bonus points if you read them out like nuclear launch codes 😂

        • Ahh I was wondering this too. Will keep it out of the account then

        • Thanks mate

        • any discounted prices for iphone 14 pro max anywhere?

  • +2

    Payment details…..loading…….

    …….

It was the pop-up blocker that killed it.

    • +1

Happened to me too with pc chrome, had to switch to Macbook safari browser

  • Can anyone confirm if we get apple to price match and add upgrades? Retailers generally sell base models, i'm looking at get at least 16g RAM for a m2 macbook air.

    • +3

You can only pricematch if it’s the exact same product. Once you’ve added upgrades, it’s not the same anymore (eg., 512Gb Macbook Air vs 1Tb Macbook Air)

  • don't need anything as of right now but am wondering whether to stock up on these for the future

    • I'm stocking for possibly iPhone 15 purchase.

    • There are talks about the economy possibly going into depression soon. Might be a wiser choice to abstain.

  • +3

Great deal. Ran around like an idiot last month to get $20 gift cards at 15%. So much better.

    • Ran around like an idiot last month to get $20 gift cards at 15%. So much better.

Haha! I did the same for a MBP.

This one is such a hassle-free deal.

I guess they used us to prune all the $20 cards first before releasing this one.

      • Kinda fun in a crazy sort of way. Got 2023 MBP :)

  • can not resist, bought another 2 today, instant delivery

  • Was on phone to CBA for two hours to unblock the transactions. Received my gift cards within two minutes. Great deal!

  • got it instantly!

  • anyone else having the checkout spin but not progress

    • If you're using a desktop browser, try using your mobile phone/device instead. I had a lot more luck that way — there might be some other factors at play like VPN/Ad Blockers but I didn't want to play around.

      • +1

Thanks mate, ad blocker was the issue

  • I tried a few time with CBA debit card this morning. Didn't work at all.
And I tried again at night it still shows transaction failed (I tried once with 2x$500 and once with 1x$500). After 5mins, I got 3 giftcards in my email(no invoices etc.)
And my webpage still showing transaction failed.

    • Freebies

    • Nothing in spam folders?

    • Lucky you, better load them up to your account quick

    • +1

But I can see 3x$425 out from my bank account, so no freebies.

      • It is okay then. You got your gift cards and got charged. If you need the tax invoices, then email them and ask. Otherwise, there is nothing to worry about.

  • Ordered with CBA debit card on mobile browser and got within in 4 mins.

  • Anyone know if you can use Apple account balance over the phone? Loaded up my account already, but scared I can’t stack a price match on the phone with the gift cards

    • you mean you redeemed them already to your apple ID? you can most definitely price match over the phone and then pay with the gift cards.

      • Ye redeemed already to my Apple ID. So, it’s possible to use the gift cards redeemed over the phone?

        • +2

Yes. I tried this. Call them up and tell them that you want to pay through your account balance (don't say gift card since this will confuse them and think it is with the actual physical gift card). They will place the order for you directly and setup click and collect on store of choice.

  • Planning to buy macbook pro m2, 16 inch,1tb and got 4000$, 500x4 and 500x4 cards in two emails.
So, planning to buy from educational store. What do i do now?
it looks like it around 3950$ there…

    any suggestions

    • Slightly less on the Apple AOC store -$3830ish

    • Adding that I've ordered the same spec by price matching HN for ~$3880 - through Apple's support line - for pickup in store today
