Audible is owned by Amazon so it should be fine. You can still create a new account instead. Once logged in to Audible, just click the provided link again to get back to the book.
I have an audible account so I just tried it. Just clicked add to cart and bought for $0.00. I didn't get this promotion email from Audible (as of yet), and I didn't need to go through the Facebook Link. Great find, scupper.

No. Audible books are DRM protected. You either need to download to their app (Android/iOS/PC) or I believe you can also get them into iTunes.

Sure can. And iTunes will let you burn any audio file to CD/s. And will import any CD as a MP3.
You'll want to use a virtual drive for this as many Audiobooks will span several CD's. I think my longest Audiobook was over 20hrs.

Got a little excited when I saw Free audio book till I realised it was Old news ;)
I downloaded the Audible Manager on my clean install of win 7 and it hung.
DRM riddled crap. It's worth -$9.95, which means they need to pay ME for installing their bloat.
