    rated capacity 1200mAh(5v-3A)?

  • +2

Can this be used to charge my phone

    • +11

      y not

    • +3

      Yes.

    • The 65W version almost certainly.
The 100W only if your phone has a USB C connector.

      • +3

Both power banks have USB A and USB C for input and output.

      • -7

        All smartphone's have USBC now.

      • Isn't that 95% of phones

  • +11

I got the 100w one from a previous deal, great unit but lasted 8months before it stopped working. The Baseus ebay store did honour their warranty with no issues. Also this doesn't have pps, so it will only charge Samsung phones at 12 or 18w

    • +6

I've got this same model (100W), and in my experience it does support PPS 2.0 for my S23 Ultra (shows up on the charging notification). Charges pretty darn quickly.

  • 20,000mAh with 100W charging, or 30,000mAh with 65W charging?

    • +2

you cant take the 30,000 one on planes fyi

      • +8

You can but you need permission from the airline which is just another hassle. Just bring two 20000mAh powerbanks.

      • +1

Correction…. it's based on Wh, not Ah…. for example Qantas limit is 160Wh. This battery pack (100W one with 20Ah) is only 74Wh. the 100W with 30Ah is 111Wh.

        • Unless I'm mistaken quite a number of international airlines is 100Wh limit and beyond that require special permission. I've had airport security check this.

          • @lawyerz: You could be right, but even the TSA (pain in the arse police)… "..passengers may also carry up to two spare larger lithium ion batteries (101–160 Wh)… " That 2 of them

    • The listing above only has 22.5W charging for the 30,000mAh unit (OOS)

  • Recommended one for Steam Deck? (Sorry, I'm not great with all the numbers to do with these power banks)

    • this will work very well

      • Sorry, I more meant which of the ones listed would be most suited to the Steam Deck?

        • +2

Both, here's a review specifically for use with a steam deck. Good reviewer too

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SW2b1Y1MUgA

I bought both for steam deck usage in the last round of deals on the baseus official ebay.

65w is great to rear mount it to the steam deck, 100w is great to put into those slim pockets in a laptop bag.

          • +2

@Elusivity: appreciate the review - was exactly what i was looking for, and answered any questions i had perfectly :)

looks like this brand is generally well reviewed and should be exactly what im looking for to get some extra playtime with the deck

    • +1

steamdeck needs 45W minimum so both will work fine

20,000 one will get you around 1.5 times charge

  • -1

    100w! Dang that’s a lot of juice.

  • +2

Tks OP, bought one for my daughter's laptop to use at school in case she forgot to charge it at home.
I was looking for the same unit weeks ago and now no more excuse to not buy it.

  • +6

Caution the 100w one is pretty wide. Perhaps as wide as unfolded Galaxy Fold

    • +2

It's pretty awkward and won't fit in most pants pockets. It makes sense if in a backpack in some scenarios.

    • +1

      It's 12 & 7 mm larger than Fold4 without case

  • Could someone help explain the number here? When they say 20000Ah, do they mean the capacity at 20V (equivalent to 400Wh) or 5V (100Wh)?

    • +3

      3.7V X 20 A = 74Wh

      • +1

        Thanks

    • +1

Not 20000Ah, but 20000 mAh. 20000Ah would be a Tesla Model 3 car battery ;)

  • This is probably vast overkill for charging my S22+ while camping/or on site at work, where no power available?

    • +4

I have a 20,000mah power bank and it's so good being able to get 2-3 full charges out of it before I need to recharge the power bank itself. Definitely not overkill.

What's the point of a power bank if it only charges something once :-)

    • Probably can use a laptop on the go for some extended period.

  • Can these unit do SuperFast charging with S21/S22?

    • Yep. It does 45W SuperFast 2.0 charging on my S23 Ultra and did 25W charging on my Z Fold 3.

      • Maybe i got faulty one . I only get maximum 12 watts on fold 4. Tried different cables as well , including original samsung .

        • That's really odd. Are you using USBC to USBC cables? They're the only ones that will do fast charge?

          • @TheFunkySalsa: Yes c to c .
How many amps, volt it shows when u charge?

            • @Modesty: Ampere shows 4360mA. But seems to only work on the left hand side USBC port…

  • +1

I've got the 100w and find it terribly unreliable. Plug it in when my phone's on 70%, it says "super fast charging, full in 22 minutes" throw them both in my bag, check it in an hour and my phone's on 71% saying "super fast charging, full in 22 minutes". Seems to work ok if I babysit it though

    • +3

I had a similar experience, turned out to be a dodgy cable. Hasn't done it again since I changed it out.

      • Interesting, thnaks. I'll give that a try.

      • I am having same issue . With usb c devices, like samsung . It stops charging automatically, i have to unplug and plug few times to see if it’s charging or not, tried many different cables including samsung original. Also max I get around 12 wats charging for fold 4z Iphone seems to charge fine .

    • I have the 100W one, it stopped charging anything after a month entirely. You're lucky ;(.

  • Does anyone know if either units support pass through charging? Doesn't mention it in the listings so I'm guessing no?

    • I had a bit of a hunt online for the same question. There's not much about, but I managed to find another OzBargain user saying it didn't.

    • +1

Was looking for the same answer and came across this video:

  • +1

every time when I open these posts. I am considering how many cables do I need and how many power banks are enough for me?

    grab one thx op.

  • +1

I have one of these. For some reason it won't charge my Sony WH-1000 XM3 headphones. It charges for a few seconds then switches off. All other devices, mirrorless camera, phone, laptop, other headphones etc charge with no problems.

  • can someone more tech savvy than me explain the benefit of the 100W vs 65W? if charging time is not an issue as I will mostly be using it to charge surface laptop, am I right in thinking there's no real advantage of a higher wattage given the neligible charging time difference if I'm going to use it plugged in anyway?

    • +1

Your surface will have a maximum power input rating. It will never charge faster than that regardless of how much power the powerbank can supply.
A higher power powerbank can charge up faster, but like all lithium ion the rate quickly slows as it gets over 70% in my experience as high rate charging can permanently damage the lithium ion cells and potentially cause thermal runaway.
So for my use case I just want a powerbank that can support the full power needs of my laptop, it doesn’t matter to me too much how fast the powerbank charges up, as I’ll typically only need to use it once a day max.

  • Hello. I am seeing $95.99. How do I apply the promo code to get $76.79? Thanks.

    • +2

      Have you tried:

Redemption. To redeem this offer during the Offer Period, enter the redemption code MAR20CBT into the redemption code box during checkout.

      • Got it now thanks. Bought 1!

  • +1

Thanks OP, grabbed a couple of the lower rate/lower capacity banks for my trip, appreciate it.

  • Id wait for the Romoss 30,000 mah one to go on sale. Goes down to $30 or $40. Got 3 of them 3 years ago and still going good. Im sure the new version would be the same.

    • Whats the wattage? 22?

  • +1

I got the 100W one previously. When the charge gets below around 20% it will go flat straight to 0% randomly. Baseus support won't do anything without sending them a video of the issue. I can't record if for a couple hours until it goes flat as it's a random % left each time. I wouldn't recommend the 100W one at the moment.

  • Are these one of the best powerbank atm?

    EDIT: The 65w one

  • Anyone who have owned these long term can you confirm they last? I keep reading about these breaking/stop functioning in short time frames from a couple weeks to a few months.

I think i might go with a known branded one like cygnet. Im after a reliable 65w+ charger for my steam deck and laptop

    • My thoughts exactly. I'm looking at the 100w but after being burnt by ROMOSS multiple times, I don't want to make the same mistake.

  • +1

I got the 65w, used it twice and decided to return it and get the 100w. The reason because when I am charging my laptop and then I plug in my phone, the power output to my laptop drops. My Lenovo laptop gives me some warning and stops charging. Replace for the 100w, I don't have that issue anymore. One comment above mentions the charging cable, he is completely right. Dogdy cable won't charge your devices to 100w. I never tried the cable that comes with the power bank, but I assume it can charge to 100w.

  • Will the 100w charge my Dell xps 15?

    • I believe it will, slowly. When i use my 65w powerbank i get an erorr. Will test it out when my 100w arrives. The xps15 proprietary charger is 130w - so it will give you an error message.

      • +1

Hey how's did you go? I bought the 100w one. Seems to charge a-okay! Happy with that. No error and/or notification

  • +2

Didn't need it but i saw 100+ upvotes and FOMO was strong.

    Thanks OP

  • Give me 30,000mah bro.

  • +5

Am I wrong in thinking this listing is cheaper for the 65W version at @$47.99 with the voucher applied?

    • +1

Thank you. I've updated the deal with your link!

    • Great find, thanks to you and OP for sharing. Bought at that price.

    • It shows $59.99 - $7.20 for me

Edit: but -$12 at checkout so nice

  • If this is plugged into a laptop, how does it figure out in which direction to charge?

    • They are either input or output so one direction

    • The number on the power bank will flash when it's charging. So if you see that unplug it and plug it back into the laptop. Also check your laptop's charge light is on.

  • These say they are a lithium Polymer battery, don't they have a problem being stored fully charged?

  • +3

So I did a bunch of maths - I hope this helps someone…

I was in the market for a power bank. I wanted it to be as close to 100Wh (27,000mAh) as possible, so it was the maximum capacity that can be taken on a plane without having to muck around with declaring it and getting it approved at customs.

I was mainly interested in the Charmast 26,800mAh 20W power bank ($59.99 via Amazon), thinking that its 99Wh capacity fit my needs best. Then I learned there's more to the story…

The Charmast has been tested to around 69% efficiency, while this Baseus 20,000mAh 65W ($47.99) has been tested to around 87% efficiency. This does vary depending on charging speeds. Sources: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

    What does this mean?

    Charmast ($59.99)
    Dimensions = 19.71cm x 9.60cm x 1.42cm = 268.69cm3 volume
    Weight = 430g
    Advertised capacity = 26,800 mAh / 99.16 Wh
    Actual output @ 69.30% efficiency, 14W PD charging speed = 68.72 Wh
    Wh per gram = 0.16
    Wh per cm3 = 0.26
    Wh per $ = 1.15

    Baseus ($47.99)
    Dimensions = 15.40cm x 6.50cm x 2.70cm = 270.27cm3 volume
    Weight = 450g
    Advertised capacity = 26,800 mAh / 99.16 Wh
    Actual output @ 87% efficiency, 65W PD charging speed = 64.38 Wh
    Wh per gram = 0.14
    Wh per cm3 = 0.24
    Wh per $ = 1.34

In conclusion, despite the Charmast having 34% higher advertised capacity, the actual Wh discharged from the two power banks is similar. And they come in a similar size/volume and weight, so similar Wh output relative to their footprint. However, the Baseus is cheaper and thus offers more Wh output per $ spent.

Other advantages of the Baseus 20,000mAh 65W:
    - Much higher charging speeds - useful for devices like laptops, iPads, Steam Decks, etc.
    - Much higher input speeds, allowing the power bank to be refilled much quicker (compared to overnight for the Charmast)
    - LCD display to see the exact remaining battery % (compared to no LCD, only 4 LED light indicators on the Charmast)
    - Cycling the power button shows the volts and amps you're getting so you know your charging speed
    - Comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable included (unlike the Charmast)

The one advantage I will give to the Charmast is that it has an input port for lighting cables, which means you can charge the power bank up with a lightning cable and then swap that same cable around to charge your iPhone. Haven't seen this on any other power banks - I imagine it could be pretty convenient!
Also returns via Amazon would likely be a far easier process if you run into any troubles.

In the end I decided to pick up this Baseus 20,000mAh 65W for $47.99 via eBay :)

Disclaimer: my maths and understanding of electricity may be wrong

    • +3

If you say anything confidently enough, people will believe you.

And you sir, have certainly achieved that.

      • Haha, well you shouldn't believe me that easily because I made a typo!

The Baseus overview should actually read:
        Advertised capacity = 20,000 mAh / 74.00 Wh

(copied and pasted formatting from Charmast overview above it, but forgot to adjust that line)

  • I bought this from the official store on eBay. Started clicking and stopped charging after 3 weeks. Got refunded. Now am looking for a different one - not sure which one yet but one which I can claim warranty on. eBay freaked me out - their returns seem to be dependent on the seller's decision.

  • Not sure if my unit is faulty but I have used various cables to test the output with same results on S23 Ultra and One+ 7:

    USB A: 5v 1.7A
USB C: 9v 2.8A and the amps keeps dropping to 1.6 amps to barely 10watt.

USBC says super fast charging as soon as i connect then immediately the amps drop significantly.
    USB A is just useless 5v 1.7a on both S23 and One+ 7.

for S20 FE neither ports charge more than 7watt.

    • What's the battery % on the phone when you are trying to charge?

The various cables also need to be able to support fast charge. Best to test with the included 60w C-C cable.

iirc you cannot fast charge if it is over a certain % like 80%?

      • The phone battery is 5%. I used Baseus cable that comes with it and even used those baseus 60w cables and still same result.
        even charges the Pixel 4a 5g at 5v 0.4A with usb C.

        • -2

There’s your problem mate , drop a few extra dollars and get the genuine Apple USB C cable. You will will thank me later .

          • @boozler: what does Apple USB C cable have to do with this Powerbank and android devices. What makes you think I use dodgy USB c cables? Apart from aftermarket cables, I have used genuine Cables from Samsung, Google and OnePlus.

    • Interesting, I just purchased for my S23 since i'm using lots of battery to use it to game on the go.

Only reason I'm getting this is to use 25W charging, how can i confirm/measure this once I get it?

    • Having same issue with fold 4 . Tried different cables, sometimes it shows fast charging, sometimes super fast but doesn’t actually charge . Stops after some time

  • I have the 100W one. It works fine but whenever I charge my laptop with it (Thinkpad T14s if that matters) it "confuses" the laptop's battery so next time I charge it will think it's full at 50% charge and stop charging. I end up having to recalibrate the battery to fix it. Really weird.

  • Just got the 22.5w ones. Really really happy with them, they accept lightning input so for iPhone users that means one cable - how good!

  • Just got mine, lose parts inside battery sound like bolts/sand rustling around when shaken/tipped.

  • Just started using the 65w powerbank with 100w baseus c-c cable. Noticed it only charges my Samsung S22 at 9v and 1.5amps = 13.5w even though the S22 can charge at max 25w. Started charging the phone at about 35% battery. Is this normal or is my powerbank faulty?
