Gorilla 3-Step Ladder $75.60, 4-Step Ladder $91 + $12 Delivery ($0 C&C / in-Store) @ Repco

270

Was out looking for a decent step ladder and saw these on sale.

4 step ladder here https://www.repco.com.au/en/tools-equipment/garage-tools-equ…

They seem to be reasonably lightweight at about 5-6kg. You could probably get a price beat at Bunnings but these are special order only so not sure if price beat applies. Delivery seems quite reasonable also ($12 to my metro address).

    Gotta love the descriptions.
In the features list for the 3 step…
    Reach Height - 2.75 Metres
    Description…
will give you an additional 3 metres of height
And that's 25cm more than the 3 step.

Does anyone know what the overall height of the 4 step ladder is when folded?

  • On the Bunnings page it quotes 160cm vs 120cm for the 3 step which sounds about right.

    • That could be the open height.

      • Even if this were the case some simple maths would demonstrate that it would probably be around 165cm or so closed.

        • For sure, but if the space I have to fit it is say 165, then it won't fit, but if the ladder is only 160, then it will just, and if I rely on guesses, I would have missed out on a ladder that will.

I have a limited space to store a ladder in my van. Unless it can be confirmed by the seller site or someone that knows, I will just go to a store and check for myself.

          • @Waynes world: You better of something like this: https://www.amazon.com.au/HORUSDY-Portable-Folding-Aluminium…

Not only smaller it's more stable as double sided ladder. I use the 4 steps one of Gorilla, really not stable enough if moving around your body, ok for just loading/unloading. Amazon has another one really compact and reasonable stable.

            • @leetec: No ladder will be stable enough if you move your body too much. That's how most ladder accidents happen.

Also a step ladder isn't a substitute for a proper ladder. This from Repco's website : "as you reach for those items on the top shelf or previously out of reach"

  • Different prices for big cities, small cities, and country town stores.

I never knew my real ladder

  • Bunnings has better prices for ladders: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/762140

  • Never dropped below $99 for me here in Melbourne (tried multiple postcodes). Best could find was $98 at Discount Trader (https://www.discounttrader.com.au/product/gorilla-gor-3tt-do…), or someone with only 32 sales on ebay for $94 delivered.
