Seems like the lowest price ever for this MacBook. Even cheaper than the MacBook Air M2 retailing at $1709.
MacBook Pro 13” M2 (8GB RAM, 256GB SSD) $1663 (Was $1999) + Delivery ($0 to Metro Areas/ C&C/ in-Store) @ Officeworks

is your laptop a Mac? it's always been a memory/battery hog on a Mac- it has never gotten better, despite the promises
Jebus, please stop using that rubbish ChatGPT.
Use a real source of information.
Use a real source of information
You mean like Bing chat?
I use FB as my source. Trust me bro. They know it all.

I think it’s a pricing error.
Shhhhhhh.
Yeah. Mums the word. 🤐
M3 is coming soon!
If you're not in a hurry, why not wait a few months? Then buy it on the apple education webstie, still cheaper. This is the iphone SE of the macbook world. Super powerful processor in an old frame with budget memory and storage
Yeah it's just not enough ram, it's embarrassing
It's fine. Plenty of base model machines have sold and are used without issue. As always, you need to assess what the machine will be used for.
I'm using one and expect it to easily make it through the next 2-3 years.
Yes it's 100% fine. I have an 8GB M1 MBA and it runs beautifully.
Would 16GB be nice? Sure.
Does it need 16GB to run well? No.
I can handle the 256gb of storage, but 8gb ram makes this a dud
Will people just stop using Chrome? It's clearly a lousy, inefficient browser if 8GB isn't enough to run it.
Chrome does have a memory saver option now - could also be worth considering.

m3 is rumored to becoming out this year.
8GB makes Baby Jesus cry.
$2597.00 for 16gb ram and 512gb ssd.. is that good price
Good price but 8GB ram is a no.
It is a good deal as a gift for dad, purposeful made for dads.
Can't believe the ThinkPad Z13 with 32Gb RAM and 1tb SSD deal was cheaper than this after cashback. Apple silicon has great battery but jeez the value isn't really there vs. a lot of PC laptop deals.
I guess this is perfectly adequate for people who just want a cheap MacBook, not necessarily for those who actually need a MacBook for video editing etc.
I think the m2 models have a disk speed problem with the 256gb models (single ssd chip) and you need to buy at least 512gb to get dual chips and full ssd speed.
Keen to know, after this listing, what have people gone for after tossing up between the M2 MacBook Pro and M2 MacBook Air?
For general use, not much difference. air is lighter and doesn't have the stupid touch bar.
If you are doing high cpu tasks, then pro as it has active cooling.
Why did the MacBook Pro refuse to hang out with the Windows machines?
Because they always wanted to "CTRL" everything!
