    Amazing price

  • +1

    1/12 for those wondering.

    • -1

      what does this mean?

      • 1/12 scale

      • It's 1/12th the size of a full size one.

      • Every centimetre on this one is equal to 12 centimetres on the full size thing.

Been waiting for this deal, thanks got one!

    • Same.. Bought one.. Thanks OP!

  • Been through a couple of these. Thought atleast spare parts would come in handy but both broken on the front end. Any recommendations for metal upgrade kit for the front swing arms? Or any other recommendations on upgrading?

    • +1

Maybe you need to make a bumper bar out of foam for your car, or practice driving more?

    • +2

I 3d print replacement ones - if that's an option for you.

      • I'm interested to know how much it costs in materials and electricity to print out the parts?

        • I've not measured it, but it'd be something between 5 - 25c. The cost was in the 2hrs it took to make the 3D model to print (I'm a novice).

    Great price!

Great deal. Thanks OP. It's my sons 7th birthday coming up so I bought one for myself.

    • +5

“Happy birthday son now give me a go.”

      • "Happy birthday son - today I'll let you have one go with my RC car"

        FTFY

  • Got one, thanks OP

  • Anyone have issues with the battery or charger

Supplied usb charger kept ruined 2 batteries

    • Included batteries are crap. Use a proper 2S LiPO and you will have better runtime and life span.

      • Any battery you could recommend?

      • Thanks

What about charger? Included one is usb - local hobby shop told me they might be the cause of my battery problems

  • Was not looking for one, but bought based on comment feedback on deal lol nice one op

  • Thanks got one. Does anyone know whether its possible to swap with Eneloop batteries

    • +1

For the remote control you can use AA Eneloop batteries.

  • getting $21 shipping. Confirmed from au warehouse. Any ideas why?

    • +1

Some addresses do that. Try your work or a friends

      • Tried the inlaws as i have a po box. Itvsays there is zero stock and canr add to cart. Change back to box and stock is fine.
        Its pretty weird

      • +2

I have no friends or job

    • Couldnt buy as shipping was painful and impossible to resolve.

  • Does this incur an international transaction fee?

NVM. Got one, anyway. Cheers, OP.

  • Any higher capacity/power Battery suggestions?

  • +1

looks like coupon has run out can only be used 80 times it says at check out.

  • +2

Looks like coupon has been all used up.

  • Got one thanks OP

  • +1

Coupon done, although that does save me ~ $62 :)

  • +1

    only 80 uses? why…

    • because theres a limit on it.

      HTH

  • I have one of these and they're so much fun

  • these things go hard and FAST, but you will be wishing the gears and drive train weren't plastic..
Worth getting at this price for sure

    • Gears shouldn't be plastic in this one. The drive train is annoying. There's a decent rear drive shaft that doesn't seem to break but the front ones don't seem to have a decent alternative.

  • seems the coupon can only be used 80 times and i get $21 for shipping

Checking to see if anyone here happens to know much about the old Nikko cars. I have a Cosmo 3 from the 90s and it works but theres an issue with the front wheels, I think there's a piece from memory like a ring that's pressed on to one of the fro t struts but it pops off easily and causes the car not to steer straight. Does anyone know if these old cars are fixable?

  • Confirmed code expired - "This coupon can only be used 80 times."

  • Anyone recommend a cheap drift car from these guys? Really only want to spend up to about $70 or $80. I've got nice wooden floors in my apartment that i think would be great for a bit of drifting. :)

  • Hope there's more coupons soon. Would love to grab one for my nephew.

Bought one for a similar price from the last deal. Those who are thinking of modding will quickly realize it's a money pit and has a very low cost-to-benefit ratio for upgrades but you will probably do it anyways. I would recommend getting a metal driveshaft at the same time as that's the one you will more likely break first. Don't get the one that comes in multiple colors, get the one that's only offered in steel/chrome. However, replacing it is very frustrating as the grub screws are superglued and I needed to drill through mine to get them out. Also got a new 550 motor, larger tires + wheel extender, better shocks, and some metal parts. Also worth pointing out: this car comes with an all-in-one ESC + RX bundle and you can't pick and chose to replace certain electronics, you will have to replace all of them if you were to upgrade.

There's a Wltoys Facebook group where you will get lots of mod ideas and answer to your questions. Good luck!

    • Do you use the supplied charger?

      • Yes, I am still using the stock battery and charger. I am a bit scared of lipo batteries so happy with what it is currently. I might build a battery pack with higher mah using 18650 li-ion batteries at some point.

      • My first such purchase, the supplied charger is rubbish. I used my Samsung USB charger which has 5V 2A output, well within the input range for the supplied charger. It became so hot and was making noise like it's gonna melt/burst. I removed it, let it cool down and then tried charging my mobile to double check if it's the Samsung charger or supplied charger issue and Samsung charger did not get hot as all. I am scared, not sure what to use to charge it the battery with now.

        • +1

I suspect the usb charger provided ruined 2 batteries

I did the money pit thing; brushless motor, better wheels, metal prop shaft (it broke, urgh the grub screws), different shocks (not sure if better), servo etc. But it made it too fast which was OK in a straight line but unstable on any corner, and crap for any sort if 'crawling'. Cornering could be improved with a rear sway bar.

In the end I put in a 45t 550 motor and cheap ESC (they are bundled on amazon for about $35). Its not super fast but (IMHO) has a good balance of low speed control and a top speed I would estimate is 40kmh. A faster car is a money pit for broken parts.

      • +1

Yep, I was this close to dropping ~$200 in brushless upgrades a few weeks back but decided to just get an upsized motor for more torque, which is needed as I run bigger wheels. My next mods will be all aesthetical as I have found the car doesn't have good "bones" for high-speed bashing and becomes too unstable. I am considering a 1/8 or 1/10 SCT which will give me better results for the money invested :)

        • +1

Agreed, there is very little flexibility in this car for any meaningful modifications. Its mostly just replacing parts with less breakable parts. Trimming down the cage at the rear and removing the spare tire helps a lot with lowering centre of gravity. Looks better too.

Personally I found the 124019 more modifiable, some slightly larger dirt tires and brushless goes hella fast, but it sits so relatively low it corners on rails. Wish I'd gotten the 124018 shell though. Still a bit space limited for batteries etc.

          • +1

@CyberGenesys: I am done with 1/14 or 1/12 scales, things are too cramped, and limited room for upgrades, not enough options. I want to move up to 1/8 or 1/10. Been eyeing a Wltoys 104002 for a while but it never goes on sale!

            • @efheichr: I happen to be selling a wltoys 104002 rolling chassis if you are interested, pm me.

I got this delivered last month when it was slightly cheaper. Great fun with the kids!

And agree with the comment above, you will spend more once you've started…
    - Balance charger and cable
    - Mobile charger and cable
    - LiPos and LiPo bag

And I have just bought battery straps as the supplied pin is crap

  • I ordered it but just checked now my card got charged $82 Aud.
If I email them for the difference - is that going to work at all ? I did use the promo code

    • Did you pay shipping?

      • it said free shipping

        • It did…but when i put my po box in it come up with $21 shipping. When i did a street address it took it off but then wouldn't allow me to add it to cart.

  • i tried and failed, so many website errors when logging in / registration
