Maybe a good birthday present?
Put them away for Christmas?

Not as good as the $1 Assorted Hot Wheels deal from Kmart last year but pretty close!
Thanks to Firestint I used their title and changed it accordingly 🙂

Might be more options in store. My 2 year old isn’t picky on what cars he has at the moment haha.

My 5yr old daughter wants the f1 set!!!! We went to the mall daily and couldn’t find it. Spoke to staff and was advised that every morning there was two guys who wait at the door and rush to this section buying up all the f1 sets.

Staff showed me on marketplace the same guys who were reselling them at a much higher price.

Pretty annoying. I’m hoping they release more f1.

    • Unfortunately Happens in many stores

    • Thats how it is at pretty much any store now that stocks Hotwheels. Theres a select few that wait for a restock every morning. I remember seeing the F1 5-pack in a few new boxes at Kmart and grabbed one. If I do see the F1 5 pack around I'll be sure to circle back to this post.

    • I’m in Adelaide. We (including family members) have been keeping an eye out on western sub stores.
If any other Adelaidians see the f1 sets (shouldn’t be more than $9) please grab it if you’re happy for me to collect from you. If you live within 20km of cbd.

      • good luck sadly, theres dozens of scalpers here that grab them all and resell them on fb. ive been hunting across the state and found none so far lol.

With all due respect (which there is none), absolute losers.

You're on a bargain site and you're upset that someone is getting better bargains than you?

        • +1

What? I'm annoyed that 2 people go to Target every morning to buy all the sets that people want, then pop them immediately online for resale.

    • Happens with the 'Cars' (as in the pixar movie) cars as well, im told that there are like facebook groups of people hunting these down and its not uncommon for a store to get new stock and for them to be all gone in a few days. Not sure if it is always like that but it was the case in the lead up to christmas a friend was telling me.

try best & less for the f1 sets, scalpers seem to avoid it as prices are much higher. The staff is also much nicer if they see the kids looking for a particular car. they keep the excess stock in the cupboards behind them and generally don't let the adults ask to go through the boxes.

    • Managed to score two of them a month ago. They are usually more common to find when they are at normal price as you only need to compete against scalpers and not people who would want to buy hot wheels when they are at cheaper prices. I managed to score mine as I asked staff to have a check in the back in many stores. I've been collecting from the same stores that at this point, I have a good connection with staff in the toy department and they can usually help me out with stock in the back.

  • Is there a stock amount link for suburbs for target / big w etc like the bunnings one ?

  • Maybe a good Easter present?

I don't understand this new trend towards Easter presents. Easter commemorates the execution of a middle eastern teacher/prophet (or God, depending on your perspective) by what was, at the time, the most painful and humiliating way of killing someone known.
We remember this killing by giving our kids toy cars?

Everyone’s got their own ideas, I’m simply offering a suggestion. If you take a look through the shops, there’s a lot you can buy kids these days for Easter Sunday instead of chocolate.

      • I'm not reflecting on you or your suggestion. Rather, I was reflecting on how Easter has changed in our culture since I was a kid. Back then the commercialisation was limited to Easter eggs (one small egg per kid when i was younger) and a couple of weeks of hot cross buns. Today, one can't go into a store without Easter related marketing of toys for kids, decorations etc.
Maybe it seems normal for those who are younger, but it seems weird for someone of my vintage.

Same here. Not everything needs to be about materialistic items.

What trend? No-one I know does this. Maybe spend less time on social media being subjected to marketing manipulation…

    • He led a fast and furious life, maybe that is why.

Beats waiting for an estwing deal

If anyone works at Kmart/Target Eastern Suburbs Melbourne and would like to put aside one Mainline ($2) Optimus Prime for me I would be very grateful.

Hot Wheels is not for the faint-hearted. You'll need a good job and a warehouse.

Between my sons with the hot wheels and my husband with gaming I might need that warehouse 😂
