Agreed, I will be buying one of these but have been waiting for a decent deal and for me this is not it.
I started looking in Jan and came across the robot and base on sale separately for <$1,100 but unfortunately didn’t realise how good a deal it was.
Like everyone else on ozbargain, I'm waiting for the s8…..but I won't be buying that also, unless it makes me breakfast

This combo is pointless. If you have 100% carpet house get the Q7, if you have hard floors the mop pad needs washing regularly like every 10mins (you wouldn't mop an entire house without rinsing your mop), so buy the S7 MaxV Ultra.
I'm a simple man, I see an specialist recommending a thing, the thing is on sale, I buy the thing… and as a true ozb, I will only check if I actually need it after the fact.
You are probably right, thou … but your main assumption is that I actually mop my house properly while in fact mopping with a dirty pad is already an enhancement to my routine. :P

I bought one from that deal and can thoroughly recommend it. I had a Gen 1 Xiaomi and a cheap Viaomi bot and this S7 was magnitudes better in terms of cleaning on carpet, pathing and customisation on the app. The auto empty dock truly makes it an autonomous machine you can schedule to run daily, and our floors have never been cleaner (we have 2 dogs). The mop function is OK but we don't run it enough to justify the another $1000 for the auto rinse mopping dock (Ultimate).
