Seems to be a good price for the Razer Kiyo Pro. Best price from Amazon AU directly according to the camels. Was $106.80 via a 3rd party through Amazon previously though.

Careful with these. The driver support from Razer is super squiffy at times. One driver release locked up the focus on mine and I had to wait until the next release for it to be resolved. Ended up having to return it, which itself was a complete pain in the arse because Razer refused to acknowledge the issue.

I'm not a fan of Razer Synapse software AT ALL, but this is still one of like 2 1080p 60fps options and definitely the cheapest? It also does pretty well in low light.

      • Have a read of the reviews on Amazon. Tons of us were stuck with bricked cameras for months at a time with no support from Razer.
It may be the cheapest, but in this case you are getting what you pay for.

        • I bought this cam last June, its been fine in my experience. Only issue I have is that the Synapse software conflicts with windows defender on my work PC which spikes CPU usage all the time (seems fine on my other PC which uses different AV software)

So the initial v1.00 version came out had no way of doing firmware updates, without it bricking the webcam (lol). They quickly updated their software to prevent that version from updating, the work around was to contact support and you might get stonewalled, you might get a replacement after you ship yours out.

The camera itself is great, the hardware is fantastic and priced right. Using it on a mac with settings working from a PC. Great for low light.

FWIW the webcam here has been superceded by the Kiyo Pro Ultra, which is stupid expensive.

Imo at that level of cost I recommend (and went for) the nexigo iris, which is both more capable and does not need dodgy software to work, while also having hdmi output if that's a thing you need.

How much did you pay for NexiGo Iris?
Any links where to buy it?
        Thanks

      • The Kiyo Pro Ultra, while somewhat better than the Kiyo Pro, still has the same primary issue - Razer software - so it would be very difficult to justify the extra cost over the Kiyo Pro.

Oh, and before i forget. Dont bother with this if you are using a Mac or Linux, they claim support for OSX, but Synapse was abandoned and so you can't change any settings.

    • +0.5 to this.

You can connect it to a windows machine and it will save the settings on the device, but if you only have a Mac you’re going to have a bad time.

On the upside, this is a great camera.

  • Similar to the Mac issue, does anyone know if I can use all the features of the cam on a work PC when not able to install any drivers? Would presume I could adjust some settings on another PC, but would I miss out on something?

    • Out of the box it looked pretty terrible. After changing settings it’s stellar. I would have not bought this camera if I couldn’t have changed the settings.
