    Hey guys, quick question (I can’t remember the rule and I googled but couldn’t find the answer): if two people are registered together will each card get the bonus or just 1 per joint account?

      If you have a joint account then it is just one account and can only get one offer. Always best to get a separate accounts. Even if you have a joint one you can still get a separate one with the same name.

      yeah so best value is getting the $50 cards to receive 10% value in flybuy points. Getting the $100 will only net you the 5% in flybuy points.

      For the last two years they’ve consistently had a 5 gift card limit per Flybuys account.

      • Flybuys bonus points deals at Coles used to only apply to one gift card per account per offer period (e.g. this example from 2019). That changed around 2020 (I think) for most gift card deals, although Flybuys bonus points deals for Officeworks gift cards at Coles are still restricted to one gift card per account per offer period.

      • Some Flybuys bonus points deals (e.g. 20x points on Apple gift cards, 20x points on Ultimate gift cards) are restricted by the number of points you can earn during the offer period, not the number of gift cards you can purchase.

      The Restaurant gift card in this deal cannot be directly used for any online purchases, as it is a physical EFTPOS gift card, and there is no way you can directly use an EFTPOS card for online purchases.

      However, you can exchange the physical EFTPOS gift card for a digital Mastercard gift card through the TCN website. Scroll down to Pay safer and faster using your mobile wallet, click/tap on Go Digital and follow the prompts.

      The digital Mastercard gift card can be used for instore and online transactions, but the issue is that the terms and conditions of the Restaurant gift card makes it clear that it is not accepted at Fast Food Restaurants (and excuse the typo in the text below; that is actually in the terms!):

      The Restaurant Gift Card works at venues that have designated the merchant category code Eating Places, Restaurants or Drinking Places. The card is not valid at will not work at venues outside of these merchant category codes . Specifically the card is not valid at venues that are designated by their merchant category code as Fast food or quick service restaurants.

      Nando’s online should use the MCC of Fast Food Restaurants (5814), but as I told you in the past, it may work at merchants using 5814, but again, YMMV.

      Another factor to consider is that Nando’s may not accept digital Restaurant gift cards, because their website’s fraud detection system may not accept prepaid gift cards (other than Ultimate gift cards), as prepaid gift cards are cards that are not linked to a verified cardholder, which heightens Nando’s risk of being exposed to fraudulent transactions.

      I am sure someone else can chime in with their real-life experiences with Nando’s online and digital Restaurant gift cards…

          The Restaurant Choice gift card has more permitted MCCs than the TCN Restaurant gift card, so the Restaurant Choice gift card would work at a lot more locations than the TCN Restaurant gift card.

      5,000 Flybuys points is worth $25 in Flybuys dollars or 2,500 Velocity points.

      Note, however, that you can only use Flybuys dollars in $10 increments so you'll have to earn some more if you want to redeem all $25 worth.

        You can only convert Flybuys points into Flybuys Dollars in $10 increments, but you can redeem Flybuys Dollars in any amount you want (e.g. $4.20).

    Can this him gift card be used online with platypus as im looking to make a purchase online only.
    If so do you just use card as is tcn or can you exchange it to use with them?
    I don’t want it if I can’t make a purchase online with it how does one find out.

      If you want to use it online you can swap it for a digital Platypus gift card code. I'm not sure what the limit is but it does say that "Multiple gift card codes can be used per transaction on the Platypus website."

        So you just can’t buy these cards and use on the retailer site? You need to swap it to digital correct?
        I be annoyed I go buy them and what I need is no longer available and I’m stuck with that retailer digital cards.
        I do use these gift cards regularly with another retailer but probably once swapped there is no turning back.

          Platypus has a page on their website about using TCN gift cards and the TCN website also states that you can swap your physical card for a Platypus voucher. You can use up to five Platypus gift vouchers on check out plus another payment method (card, PayPal, Afterpay etc.). I confirmed this via their live chat and also by testing it myself on their checkout page.

          If I can get a bigger gift card then better just depends on what store might have left.

          This deal is for 1,000 Flybuys points per gift card so you are better off buying only the $50 gift cards. If you buy the $100 cards you are spending more money for no benefit.
