$3 Flat Delivery for Metro Areas (Excl. TAS/NT) for <$30 Orders (Was $9) @ IKEA

2880

IKEA has now changed the price for delivery to metro areas from being a flat $9 fee, to a spread cost. This makes it much more palatable for orders for cheaper items (such as the current deal on Ladda's).

Even cheaper than the C&C service which is unusual for orders <$60, limited time offer until 30 April 2023.

The delivery cost is applied after any coupons, so if you order $50 worth of goods, you'll pay a $4 delivery fee after the $10 Coupon.

I have tested quite a few postcodes, and seems to work within a reasonable range of all capital cities excluding Tasmania and the Northern Territory.

Up to $30 – metro parcel price is $3
$40 – metro parcel price is $4
$50 – metro parcel price is $5
$60 – metro parcel price is $6
$70 – metro parcel price is $7
$80 – metro parcel price is $8
$90 – metro parcel price is $9
$100 – metro parcel price is $10
$115-$150 – metro parcel price is $12
$175-$250 – metro parcel price is $15
$275 or more – metro parcel price is $20

The flat rate for parcel orders outside of metro area is $29.

Enjoy :)

What a weird shipping price list. They actively don't want people paying more

    • +2

      $1 delivery increments
      for
      $10 spending increments

It's a linear relationship of 10% delivery fee,
      for the expenditure,
      before hitting the $115 - 150 bracket.

Looks like the best delivery fee
is for the spending bracket of $275 or more !

    IKEA shipping slow though

      • +1

like me literally just month ago, I went to Ikea to order spare parts for me bed, they said the parts not available so I had to order via online, I ordered spare parts to set up my bed again cuz i moved house and you know what, the parts took me around 2 weeks to wait 😃 I nearly forgot that I ordered those parts

        • +2

Tbf I think those spare parts come from overseas. Much easier to go in store if you can.

Screws & Hardware - If the part you need is displayed in the assembly instructions with a part number next to it, these may be available in any IKEA store at our Returns and Exchanges counter. Alternatively, these parts can be ordered to your home free of charge online at our Spare Parts page. Arrival for this takes approximately 2-4 weeks.

      Not in my expreience.

    • Yeah i dont know why they when you select shipping its like minimum 2 weeks. And that's just to wait for them to put it in a box, not even arrive.

  • +6

If they think this is going to enable me to impulse buy more expensive items - they are 100% right.

Haven't been to Ikea for a long time - what are people buying for under $30?

    • +11

      Ladda batteries?

    • +6

      Kitchenware

    • +2

LADDA rechargeable batteries? They are rebranded Eneloops (OzB favourites) sold at a lower retail price.

      • Does it come with charger?

        • +1

Nah, chargers are sold separately for $10 as you'd expect given the price of the batteries.

A 4 pack of LADDA 2450mah batteries retails for $12, comparable Eneloop Pro batteries when not on sale are in the $25-30 range for a 4 pack also without a charger.

Kitchenware? In any case it’s cheaper than fuel costs for many.

Omg $3 to avoid the maze?? Yes please!!

    • +1

      There is a hidden lift

      • Where? In the kitchen?

        • If you can find it, it wouldn’t be hidden

          • @tharlow: not meant to be used then. still have to go through the maze.

  • Thanks, wanted to buy some shelves to bump up my TV since the soundbar covers it but I was too lazy to go to Ikea. Finally got it. Delivery would on 7th, so not too bad.

  • Got a small table delivered for $3. Very Nice!

  • Was curious what areas are metro. My postcode works despite being 75 km from the nearest store.

    • +1

Same here! I live nearly 200 kms from the nearest IKEA and it’s still $3! Didn’t realise we lived in Sydney suburbia!

  • This is awesome. Cheaper than click and collect is a massive win

  • +1

Hmm I added $39 item and delivery is still $3

  • Can someone please tell what's cheapest way to get Laddas now ?

Signup for a new account, get the $10 with $50 spend deal from https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/751142

Then buy instore (is that voucher usable instore ?) or online only ?
    Thanks

  • The big furniture is not included… Only for small parcel

    • +1

Some ask why Australia Post can’t deliver a couch… I ask why not?!

  • Prefer waving C&C fee as there is always an IKEA nearby if you live in metro

    • Hi! 👋 🌊

  • Small parcels is cheaper but now big truck deliveries are way more expensive. It used to be flat rate $169 (for most things) and now it went up to $229, so it's not a great deal for us not living in the big cities.

  • Arrived surprisingly quick from NSW to VIC via Toll.

tried to add ladda batteries and get

LADDA is not available for home delivery

    …anyone else?

    • +1

Got that message for the 2450 AAs. More detailed the message is "Sorry, this product can only be delivered to your selected postcode if it’s part of a larger order"

  • My $43 order (after the coupon) was charged $5 shipping, Metro Sydney

  • the transport provider is being screwed and in turn the buck will stop with the truck driver/courier. Somebody will suffer on this deal.

  • Just tested I got $8 Sydney Metro
