Hmm doesn't seem amazing. Can't you normally get 8tb ironwolves and other cmr drives for $200?
Barracuda SMR drives are a little under $180, while CMR Blues are $195 and Ironwolf typically $225~269 depending on sale.
The Blues are QLD only unfortunately though other 8tb drives go on sale for similar prices.
Got one of these last they were on sale on Amazon and just replaced a drive in my NAS with it. Been running for under 4 days now I did a smart test this morning and got the following readings. Should I be concerned. RMA it?
1 Raw_Read_Error_Rate 0x000f 080 064 044 Pre-fail Always - 89931000
7 Seek_Error_Rate 0x000f 069 060 045 Pre-fail Always - 8786546

The values on my other 4 WD Reds is 0.
The 4tb reds are now $130.
Don't worry about those when looking at raw values.
Seagate drives display them very differently to WD drives.

Thank you so much. Very helpful and I learnt something today.
Paid $147 in Oct 2022 for the same thing. Again paid $149 for 3TB in July last year…! My NAS drives started failing (within 6 months of eachother) so I might as well replace the whole array.
Showing as $136.58?
"tiny" haha true nowadays though.. i still have a 40GB ide drive that somehow works :D cant bring myself to bin it
