Disheartening to see how much barebones motherboards go for these days…
Whats barebones about this? Its itx…
It's Micro ATX.
Even so.. what's it missing?
@hippyhippy: I paid $164 with a Free $40USD Steam gift card that worked out to be around $56AUD via MSI Promo https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/646134 for a B550 Tomahawk & B550M MORTAR for $148.66
If you compare both those boards for what you get today they are way better value.
@vid_ghost: This is a ddr5 mobo with wifi… they do seem to have the early adopters tax… and you also got a afterpay deal… I'm sure this will be just as cheap soon.
@hippyhippy: But when moving from DDR3 to DDR4 the boards had no price increase.
I think PCI-E 5.0 with more lanes is where the extra $$ is coming from… But the B550 Tomahawk is a 6 layer copper PCB.. The thing is so heavy to lift :) and still cheaper
MB makers even said they put prices up this gen so they could make more money.
