Assuming you are not taking about submerging it, I use it for outdoor lights etc in the rain it’s fine, but ideally with a bit of cover

  I use mine when I high-pressure clean outside, no issues. Cable has to be thick enough though.
  
  Got less waterproof after our husky used it as chewing toy and bit two clips off.

Easy option is put a duct tape across the joint. Waterproof and not so bulky.

Just keep in mind they're IP44.. that's not particularly weatherproof, so don't put them in for anything outside and exposed, or for a long period.
