Binge Standard $5/$10 Month for 12 Months for Telstra Plus Gold/Silver Members

340

Saw in Telstra offers - I assume only for Telstra customers and could be targeted.

Previous post from 26/7/2022

Get BINGE Standard for only $10/mth for 12 months (was $16/mth).
Alternatively, Get BINGE Premium (4 screens vs 2 screen) for $14/mth for 12 months (was $18/mth).

Standard is better value in terms of savings. Binge only has HD (not 4k), so Premium isn't necessary except for large families.

To redeem, go to Telstra App > Services > Offers, or alternatively via Web-portal.
Also available, is 3 months free Flash, and other Kayo deals (not that good).

Must sign up via Telstra by 30 June 2023. Roll onto standard monthly subscription fees (currently $16/mth) after 12 mths unless you change or cancel. Cancel any time.
You may be eligible to redeem this offer on one of the services listed below.

By redeeming this offer, you will no longer be eligible for offers only available to new customers.

Already have BINGE?

This offer is available for new, returning, and existing BINGE Standard & Premium subscribers. If you're an existing BINGE Basic customer, you'll need to upgrade to BINGE Standard before you can redeem this offer.

New to BINGE?

Eligible Telstra post-paid customers can get 2 months BINGE Standard with Telstra, then standard fees apply (currently $16/mth). Learn more.

About to cancel Netflix so this might be a good alternative.

    • +9

I find binge better. It has all the hbo stuff. Netflixs own shows are so hit & miss miss miss.

      • +1

        Just wish it were 4k!

      • Breaking Bad was probably best Netflix show, Only problem, NOT AVAILABLE TO AUSTRALIAN Netflix, so ofcourse.

Never pay a dim to netflix, when you can get it for free from other sources

        • +3

Breaking Bad was FX, not Netflix…

          • @ScottEh: must have been better call saul then, (earlier seasons, because last two were taken up by a different company)

The videos had a starting netflix logo so assumed it was from netflix.

      • Absolutely, lots of miss miss on Netflix

      Real debrid son

Binge website is offering $10 a month for sd

  • +7
    • with a maximum of four minutes of commercials appearing per hour per user

  • +2

Binge standard is adding ads isn't it?

    • +8

Foxtel, making you pay for ads since 19??

    • No, it's only Binge Basic that's getting ads (for now…)

  • Gone are the days of free Binge

    • +1

still got 2 months left on that sub. best deal ever 🤣

      • +1

I wish I had scored it. Have only subbed to binge for The Last of Us so that deal would’ve been perfect for it.

  • +4

I've already signed up for this and the content is quite good but as soon as ads start appearing, I'm out.

    • It would be the same as paying twice. One of the reasons I never got payTV.
And that is even before considering the lack of 4K.

  • It won't let me claim this Telstra offer because it's the same phone number or email address or whatever linked to my Telstra account. I would like to use it but it won't let me. When I go to delete my Binge account it tells me to contact Binge and Binge tell me that if I delete my account I can't make another one with the same contact details.

  • Targeted, mine is 2 months of standard Binge for new customers only

    • Yup seems to be targeted, mine is also showing 2 months.

  • +2

It’s showing $5 per month for 12 months for me.

    • +7

Means you’re gold Telstra plus. That means you give Telstra too much money

      • I just order iPhones for the family and pay monthly. Reach the minimum yearly spend easily!!

        • ie playing too much.

Which is a perspective thing really I guess. I can't justify ever paying that much for phones, not even close to it, and I make a decent buck. Still have that uni life mentality, frugality.

          • @teereb: For frugality you can salary sacrifice a phone which will save you automatically 10% as you don’t pay GST and then you save more on whatever your tax bracket is. If you go overseas you can claim another 10% off GST which makes the phone almost free. Granted your employer needs to offer salary sacrifice

            • +1

@illusion99: Yeah I know this, that would still nearly triple my phone spend over what I do, telstra prepaid, $300 a year per phone, $500 phones which last ~4 years each.

I can claim more than 10% through work, which I do as well.

It is just preference on how people spend their money.

  • +4

imagine giving telstra $10/mo for this garbage and then watching ads too lmao

  • +7

Even Binge at it's best is low res and 2 channel audio.

    Such a joke in 2023.

  • -7

Nope (profanity) any streaming services where they make you watch ads you can't skip. Binge makes you see like a 30s or a minute ad before every other episode as far as I know.

    • with a maximum of four minutes of commercials appearing per hour per user.

      Only on Basic

    • What about streaming service Tubi?? It's free but has so many ads and you can't skip.
I only signed up in the last year but I remember one of the first movies I watched came with like 13 ads total. It seems to have slowed down the amount of ads a bit since then (I think they hammer you for the first few views) but still pretty ad heavy.

  • Any danger of a Kayo deal Telstra?

    • +1

14 days for new customers.. If you're Silver or Gold you can get $17.50/$12.50 for 12 months or y'know save a lot more by not being Silver or Gold lol.

      • Haha as someone who churns the annual Jb gift card deals I don’t think I’m their target demographic

  • +2

How can they not support 4K Dolby Vision 🤦‍♂️

    • Or even just 4k at all.

    • No Foxtel streaming service is 4K.
Kayo is meant to be I think but it doesn’t feel like it

  • Got 1 month free Foxtel Now, 2 months free Binge, 3 months free Apple TV+ and 3 months of Flash (which apparently is just news??)

  • "Already have BINGE? This offer is available for new, returning, and existing BINGE Standard & Premium subscribers"

I'm an existing Binge Standard subscriber via Telstra and I do not have this offer.

  • +2

I think you need to be a Silver or Gold Telstra Plus Rewards member to have this $10/month Binge offer. So min $1,500 /yr spend on your Telstra account.

Do you fall into that category @ts13 ?

    • Yeah. Silver. But was off Telstra for a long time and only recently rejoined with JB phone plan.
I think I saw when I redeemed the offer that it’s a Telstra Silver member offer. Is anyone gold with a diff offer? I’ve seen a few different iterations in the comments.

      • I am gold and got the $5 offer

  • As JMC said, this offer is only for silver members. Gold members get it for $5 a month. You have to be spending something like $1500 to get to silver.

  • +3

With so many streaming services putting up their prices and/or looking for other money-grubbing opportunities (I'm looking at you, Netflix), people will just take to the High Seas again.

    • +1

Or you can move to Turkey…

      • True, although this is becoming increasingly difficult, too.

  • Did this just get edited like it was a new deal? They’ve been offering this for ages, and you have to spend thousands to get it.

    • The title has been updated to reflect the qualifying criteria, it is not a new deal. Entry gate for Telstra Plus Silver is $1,500 annual spend.
