— filipshed eBay - 8 Available - Milwaukee 5.0AH Battery $109.00 Delivered ebay.com.au

I have already called Sydney Tools and Total Tools near my area and they do not offer price match or price beat for amazon or eBay items but each store is different so it may help to try and call the stores near you to see if they offer price matching.

Thanks for viewing my post, hope you all have a great night!

Just a little bit about our website:

I’m a 3rd-year apprentice carpenter, on my free time I have been working on creating a website where you can search, compare and save money on tools by directly comparing prices from Total tools, Sydney tools, Bunnings, and many other online stores.
With our website, you can check reviews, set price alerts, and even find the product manual for the tool you’re about to buy or have bought! Our price alerts function will notify you straight away when a price of a tool drops!

I also want to add some extra functions that would make the website even more useful for tradies, functions such as adding quick chippie calculations (totally free for everyone to use) I'm only a carpenter so quick chippy is a productivity app we use but if any sparkies or plumbers know of any other productivity apps they use, please let me know and I can add those in too!

Our Website: https://toolpricecheck.com/

Hopefully, I can help you save a couple of bucks on your next tool purchase!

The first one is "Genuine Brand New From a Kit No Retail Box", so unless you get an invoice for the whole kit, I don't think it'd be covered by warranty. But I've never had to make a warranty claim for batteries so I'm not 100% sure.

But the second one is "2 Years Warranty - Tax Invoice - Brand New In Original Box - Australian Stock", so this one is better.

However, I never buy batteries from eBay because there are a lot of very good fakes, and lots of grey imports. Just wait for sales, redemptions and deals, and buy from a reputable store.

Source: used to have about 15 Makita 5ah batteries and never had an issue, except for an ebay one "that was from a kit". Also have over a dozen Milwauke M18 and M12 batteries, mostly from total tools, also no issues. My friend bought an M12 from ebay, it looked a bit sus, he messaged the seller and received a refund instantly. I'm not a tradie, but my friend and I have been using power tools forever.

I'm not saying these are fake or imports, but you have to wonder why these are almost half RRP after the seller pays selling fees. But yeah, I'm not an expert, I'm not a chippy or sparky, I'm just sharing my experience.

Edit: there also might be a problem if the sellers aren't authorised dealers, because I bought an Australian model Makita skin (lots of US models on ebay when I was using makita) once which had a battery redemption. When I tried to get the battery Makita said, "nope, that invoice is not from an authiorised dealer." But I have no idea if this relates to battery warrranty.

      Yep, milwaukee warranty clearly states:

      The Milwaukee Manufacturer's product Warranty:

      is not valid for any products purchased on Amazon, eBay and any other non-authorised websites;
is only applicable to products purchased from Authorised Milwaukee Retailers in Australia or New Zealand; and
is in addition to your consumer guarantee rights under the Australian Consumer Law or the New Zealand Consumer Laws, as applicable.

I've got a friend who bought some Metabo batteries off ebay, hilariously the ones that weren't trying to pretend to be genuine lasted longer than the "genuine" ebay batteries.

I've bought 3rd party batteries for cameras and other stuff, and they clearly tell you it's not geniune, just compatible. Just pay a bit more for the brands with good rep, but still save a significant amount compared to genuine.

  • https://toolpricecheck.com/ that's a really nice website you've got going there, looking forward to using it in the future.

Some suggestions/things I noticed when browsing:

    • Hey OZKap,
Wow! Thanks so much for the detailed feedback, it's very much appreciated! Your suggestions are spot on and would improve the quality of life for users.
Looks like I've still got some work to do!

  • Won't comment on the deal but wanted to say the website is really easy to use. I've set an email reminder for a Bosch SDS drill so fingers crossed it works!

    • Thank you so much for the feedback ebosh!
I hope one of the vendors drops the price of that tool soon! I will be keeping a keen eye on this too :)

  • I have bought from the seller below ($105) and got genuine batteries that I am very happy with.

I have never bought a Milwaukee battery at the outrageous retail price at most tool stores.

Buy an adapter and use Ozito batteries is another alternative (mine which cost $72 works perfectly).

  • Are these the Milwaukee batteries that are having all the issues. 5.0 and above having high frailer rates?

    • i dont know about these specific ones but got 1x5.0 2x6.0 and a 12.0 that not taking charge. the 2x6.0 both have the middle cells voltage down to 0, the 12.0 got faulty pcb and the 5.0 only charged to 3 bars, Might savaged the 12.0 and save the others
