            your link in ali is not the INKBIRD one, Different brands have different product quality and after-sales service.
            how about you find the INKBIRD one to compare the price. If you don't mind the brand, then why not compare the price for INKBIRD to weber

              @Inkbird: Hence why I said it's similar. But seeing you brought it up the Inkbird takes a square 9V battery, my link takes 2 x AAA which is much better.

              As far as quality goes here is some feedback from members on Inkbird products -

              I don’t associate INKBIRD with quality anymore. I purchased an INKBIRD bbq thermometer and it was uselss. I returned it, got another one, still couldn’t provide an accurate reading on each probe. Returned it got ANOTHER one but this time we tested it with the sales bird and guess what USELESS.
              My inkbird ended up in the bin, cheap manufacturing, flimsy, dry solder joints leading to very early failure, there is a reason this is cheap
              Had the same issue with inkbird Bluetooth kit that wouldn't connect to anything, all in the bin and moved on from your brand. Maybe I got really unlucky but 2 out of 2 duds was enough for me
              Agreed with above comments on cheap build quality. I had one for just over a year and it broke outside the warranty period. I'd only used it a handful of times as I don't BBQ that much. Support didn't give me much love aside from a 15% off coupon…which wasn't enough to convince me to purchase a product that in my mind should last a lot longer. Would stay clear of this brand.

  No good for cooking steak etc as measures only external temperature of the object, so no use for me in general cooking.
  I think I can usually tell when the outer surface of what I'm cooking is hot …..

      You can test the temp of pans, hot plates, BBQ grills etc but cooking isn't one of the main uses for this. Inkbird sell some excellent thermometers for cooking like the instant read probe and the 4 probe wifi reader. They also sell a good Sous Vide machine.

  i have one in kitchen and works fine ….only downside is 9v battery … not something i keep handy like aa or aaa eneloop.

  have similar looking unit in garage …. uses eneloop but that was ebay and china with long delivery time, in hindsight should have planned better and read what type of battery used ….
