It's 50% Aussie-sourced, 50% Brazilian peanuts.
Though in the past I do remember reading that they were also sourcing the non-Australian peanuts from Zambia and Nicaragua as well.
They switched to a mixed-origin supply for their peanuts in 2021 when peanut shortages became widespread.
Favourite PB roasted in NZ. Did use Kingaroy peanuts until recently. May of caved in to cheaper Argentinian nuts (like most).
I thought a lot were Chinese peanuts, so Argentina are the cheap nuts factories use now.
These any good?
quite amazing IMHO
It’s Really Good
Bega must have bought all the aussie nuts.
Shame not a fan of their processing style.
It’s the only PB our family likes.
can you explain what is wrong with their processing style?
I've only ever bought Mayvers but considering Bega cause it's on specialHighly recommend Bega Simply Nuts if that's what you're referring too. Great taste, consistency and one of the healthier peanut butters (especially no added salt).
Simply nuts is great. Used to love Mayvers but it has slowly taken over as my new fave.
Bega is more oily. At the least need to stir it (or store upside down).
Ah lots of responses!
I find even tho i stir the Bega well
by the time i get to the lower 3rd
i don't enjoy it too dry(ish]simply nuts version to be clear
I find this happens more with the 650g version, simply because the larger jar is harder to stir thoroughly. I don't have any issues with the 325 unless I'm going through it slowly and don't restir.
I stir and store it in the fridge, never have to stir again.
Can you spread it easily after it’s been in the fridge? I don’t want it tearing a whole in my bread.
Is this better/tastier than mayvers?
In my opinion, yes.
Mayver's tasted watered-down/less rich and with a less thick consistency when I tried it. Never went back for more.
Is this not oily like Maybers peanut butter? Is it more like Bega/Kraft consistency?
No it's oily like Mayvers and Bega Simply Nuts
Thanks.
More like Mayvers than Bega Simply nuts. Bega is more oily.
Thanks. Yes, Bega Natural floats on oil.
Honestly the best peanut butter. Roast sits in the middle of Mayvers Dark and Light, and is well balanced.
In b4.
Not 100% aussie peanuts.
