ELITE SCREENS AEON AR120H-CLR 120" 16:9 4K THE IDEAL PROJECTOR SCREEN FOR YOUR HOME THEATRE

The Elite Screens Aeon CLR is an Ultra Short Throw Projector Screen with EDGE FREE design. Thus CLR fixed frame screen uses Elite's innovative StarBright CLR (Ceiling Light Rejecting) material. Its serriform optical surface lens microstructure negates the washout effect of ambient light especially from overhead sources. This also enables the material to provide contrast levels that are 100 times greater than that of standard matte white projection screens.

StarBright CLR is specifically designed for ultra-short-throw projectors to provide a large-screen performance in the close quarters of most residential or even training environments. Aeon CLR with StarBright CLR offers a wide viewing angle, neutral color temperature, and enhanced picture contrast in a theater-grade image.
StarBright CLR® is a ceiling light-rejecting front projection material designed specifically for tabletop-mounted ultra-short-throw projectors. The StarBright CLR® features a multi-layer optical lens structure that absorbs off-axis light from above while providing a clear image. This allows the picture to be free from washing out the projected image.

FFS! You can get a VERY decent projector for less than this…..is this a joke deal?

  • The thing is… with a UST you actually want a bit of an edge to prevent light spilling on to the wall.

Well ..a UST is an ultra short throw projector ( place the projector on a table right next to your screen and you have a 120 inch TV) which projects upwards at an angle and generally has a laser light source. USTs are marketed as TV replacements, in bright light that angle of projection cannot be handled by an ordinary screen ..which works great in a dark dedicated theatre whether it is a UST or a long throw or somewhere in between. USTs are pretty bright, current pictuhre quality easily matches a 4k mini led tv screen if you get the right unit and projects a 120 inch bright image …except if you want a 120 inch TV experience in daylight with a UST you need a screen that rejects ambient light. Which is why these things are in demand and which is why they are expensive because it is not a projection on a wall or undies stitched together.. >80 inch OLED for around the 5k-6k mark is a better buy if you want the best image but if you want the best 120 inch TV type image right now for a living room..the projector would cost 4 to 5k, screen would cost 1 to 2k . If however you have the space for a tradiontional bulb based projector you can have the same set up way cheaper as long as you can mount the projector on the ceiling and have enough room in a light controlled env. Well that was to shed some light on why the screen is so expensive.. having said that ..XYZ screens on Ali deliver a 120 inch to OZ at about 1800 and its pretty darn good ..but if you knew why this screen is expensive you would know that too I suppose.

    • Yeah people throwing words around in the comments without knowing what UST need and how they work properly.

Recently helped set one up, with an alr screen (ambient light reflecting screen), and the image is amazing, even with the windows open.

The 100" screen was from Ali Baba and I believe was ~780? Delivered. And took a mate and myself ~2 hours to put together. Building ourselves and not buying locally saved well over a grand. The projector was the hicense pl1h I believe, jb had it for sub $2k over Christmas.

Now to convince the missus we need a projector, cos size is amazing.

Well dude I do not really get the UST craze but if you are after a UST please do yourself a favour and read up on https://www.avsforum.com/forums/ultra-short-throw-ust-projec… also remember nothing can beat an OLED in the projector world including the latest commercial projector..but then again nothing beats a 120 inch screen does it :-D ..specially if the sound is right… the laser projectors promise 20 years of life..I reckon in 5 more years we will have 120 inch OLEDs so think before you spend too much. These current batchg of USTs are just stunning though specially the formovie triple laser set up

        • I'm with you there. I don't get the UST, but for price and size it's pretty good.

Only think I can't seem to find is acoustic transparent ALR screens, don't think they exist. IMO what's the point of having a crispy colourful massive screen if you aren't supported by a good home theatre sound. But each their own I guess.

I'd still go rear projection, for the acoustic transparency. Have a third tower I'd use as my centre.
