I replaced my 11yr old PC with a new build a few months ago and finally got to try out NVMe for the first time. I know most of you have had such a luxury but for someone who came from mechanical HDD my mind was blown to smithereens.

Yeah I went from HDD to SSD and then built a new pc for myself and had the same reaction haha. Technology is so amazing these days

Agreed, I remembered the smile on my face when I first changed the 2.5" HDD in my Macbook Pro to 2.5" SSD. Now I use NVMe in all my computers.

        • I recently found my OCZ Vertex 2 from 2011, $195 for 120GB of Sata2 from Umart. Blew my mind watching computers boot.

      • I push the power button now and then turn on my monitor, when the monitor gets past the screen with the branded logo I'm already at desktop, part of my brain just don't understand this.

Dont go to newer systems yet then.

The latest chipsets with DDR5 have a 20 second+ boot delay.

Its still multiple times the speed once booted. But if boot speed is important, stay 'old' for a while longer.

          • @MasterScythe: Im not sure why this was negged. It makes correct things look false, just because someone doesn't like to hear it.

bro even going from sata SSD to NVME, blew my mind lol

    Managed to grab 3. Thanks!

    • You have 3 free slots!? I only have two slots on my mobo, one Gen 5 and one Gen 4 and they both occupied :(

      • You can always use the PCI expansion slot.

        • Don't you have to start thinking about available lanes, bifurcation etc at that point?

          • @Namidairo: Yes, sure. But if you only need one than there is no need for bifucation. If you are using a PCI card with multiple nvme slots than yes you will need to turn on the bifurcation. Also, this comes down to CPU in use and how many PCI lanes it can support.

As an example, my home pc/server has 3 built in m2 slots on mother board and 4 PCI expansion slots (2x16 lanes and 2x8 lanes) and all of them can be configured with bifucation if needed. I am doing Bifurcation on 1 slot as it has 4 nvme expansion card installed and another slot kept in normal config as it is used for only one NVME drive.

Pls take off the lable and check if the memory is legitimate. It's reported Team use unidentified Sandisk memory on this SSD
