    Those pictures are very careful not to show a tang, which is probably not going very far into the handle at this price. Looks an ok enough knife for the price though.

    You can find videos of someone making a cardboard knife super sharp. that's not the issue. It's how long it keeps that edge, as well as how likely it is to rust, or chip.

    Also, no, it's a rolled sheet that's laser cut. that's not a bad thing, but it's not forged.

    Whats with these cheap knives.. highly skeptical of quality. Heres a $30 for 4 knives, scissors and peeler. Hesitant to even go them a go..

    These are cheap knives with a cheesy Damascus pattern laser etched in.

    I bought a set off eBay and returned them

    Any knife can be extremely sharp, what really is important is how long can it hold the edge.

    For a good but inexpensive knife look at Victorinox or maybe the IKEA one (someone else suggested it)

        May be this knife is not very good but I don't like people keep saying thing are bad but they don't actually own or use it.

          1. They are cheap for a reason, ie. questionable material and quality
          2. For people who knows their craft, product like this is predictable in term of quality. You don’t have to own it to know what it’s like.
          • @[Deactivated]: I said that because happened a lot here, people kept saying things bad but found that they didn't use or own it and finally turn out it was not bad for the price.

        • What if they op is the seller, you're still blindly trusting one 'review'…and you definitely can't trust a product with only 12 Amazon reviews. It's a gamble, but for $10, go for it.

    Jump down the rabbit hole that is /r/chefknives

    Super cheap - Get a bunch of Kiwi knives and a cheap sharpening stone.
    Bang for buck - Get a Victorinox 8 inch chef's knife and a Shapton 1000 stone.
    Rabbit hole - hand made Japanese knives. Have a look at knivesandstones or protooling

    I've got all the above. If I had my time again, the most money I wasted was on sharpening.
    Have a pull through Furi diamon fingers (~$40) and a Lansky guided system ($90)
    I could have had the Shapton 1000 and 5000 stones I now have for the same price.
    Took me about 10 minutes of practice to put a better edge on all my knives than the above ever could, and in a fraction of the time.

    I still use my Kiwis as daily beaters, they're great. Victorinox is there for some things, and my Japanese are something I'll have for life.

    • Same same. kiwis. Some random expensive knives here and there but seldom use them. Not gonna lie, these knives look cool and wouldn't mind trying but I know it'll likely just sit in the drawer once dull and I'll continue using the kiwis. Ain't got time to sharpen so many knives.

      • About 70% of the time i'll use my gyuto or bunka
        20% kiwi, and 10% Vic

        I don't have a nakiri yet, and have a couple of kiwi in this shape
        Anything with bone or hard things = Kiwi
        They used to be beaters in the sense that they got a lot of use
        Now it's more that they can do the jobs I wouldn't want to risk on my others.

    • Got the Kiwi bukka and nakiri. Very thin, sharp and light. No complaint for the price. Does anyone feel they are too light? I find when there's not enough weight it's hard to control and can't leverage the gravity so you have to generate your own force all the time.

      It's like the weighted keys of a piano vs the unweighted keys of an electronic keyboard. Much more effort and less control on the keyboard.

    As someone who owns this knife all I can share is my experience. I've used it pretty much daily for the last 6 weeks and all I can tell you is that it I can get thin slices of tomato and cucumber without it turning into mush, slice raw chicken breast without mangling it and it takes a lot less effort to dice pumpkin, potato and sweet potato compared to my other knives. When I bought it I wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised by the weight of it, though. Also, I wash it by hand and after 6 weeks of daily use the blade hasn't dulled and it doesn't show any signs of rust yet.
    I can't comment on how it compares to an expensive chef quality knife because I've never used one, but for $11 I've found this knife does the job.

      That is what I want to read real experience from someone who owns it.

      Not from people "they are bad but I don't have one."

      There are a lot look the same from difference sites but I found that they are not the same.

    Mine arrived today not great. My little Victorinox steak knives do better.
