Gah! All my assaults last 4 days :-(

What is the difference between assault and tactical backpacks?
Are these likely to replace duffle-bags as the carrier of choice for school shootings?

    • +1

Reliable for camping. "Rugged and reliable, the Blackhawk 3-Day Assault Pack is built to withstand the rigors of constant use. The body is comprised of tough, 1000 denier nylon with reinforced stitching for harsh environments, cuts, tears and abrasions."

    • Arguably this is neither an assault nor a tactical backpack.

"Tactical" backpacks usually have modular Molle webbing, which is actually what military use so they can attach different pouches with Molle webbing to enable them to carry more/other stuff that can be accessed quickly and detached quickly if needed.

Imo this is just marketing. Its just a simple backpack thats black and looks cool.

  • +8

Would assault be the best marketing name for US schoolkids? Probably not

  • +4

Thanks op. Picked one up to use when I'm on 2 wheels.

  • +2

Is this good for travelling overseas?

  • +1

    Showing full price?

  • +1

    Showing as 196 for me.

  • thought of pet food…

  • +3

Its expired and back to $196.

But also lots of squiffy on taht description. Is it 1000D or is it 210/330D? Also no PALS webbing (what they seem to call STRIKE webbing) in the photos, but claims it in the description. Gives different specs in each place.

Either way in the bag world this is just a junk bag. Dont expect much, and certainly dont pay $196.

The offer has expired. I don't get why you neg. When posted the deal was on. I have updated to expired. What's the issue. It was definitely a deal for the $49.74

      • -8

Negged because its not a deal. The backpack is terrible.

    • +5

Yeah the product description is an absolute mess. The official product page says it's 210/330D and it has no MOLLE/PALS webbing, it's basically just a normal backpack:

  • OOS?

  • $196.54 for me. Sale ended?

    • Yes it's expired. Unfortunately the offer didn't last long.

  • +2

2000 cubic inches is just over 32 litres

  • lol that was quick

  • Great present.

    • Too late mate. The offer has expired

      • +3

I got one earlier, Thanks for the post, buy first cancel later!

  • +3

If anyone wants a very good bag for a decent price, then skip these sort of reseller faux tactical bags and buy directly from the suppliers in Vietnam. Among the EDC communities the Chuyentactical bags constantly come out as well made and well priced, even if they are "inspired" by other designs.

    Stuff like https://ctactical.vn/products/ct21-v2-backpack

    • +6

$110 for the backpack and $85 for the shipping? Terrible deal.

      • +1

See how much the GoRucks go for. These Chuyen ones get great reviews considering the price.

    • +3

They never used to be faux. Blackhawk was the real deal when it was founded but like so many others before it, the lure of the mass market took hold and they traded quality for mass sales. I still have their original 3 day pack (stored somewhere) from the mid 90s and it looks absolutely nothing like this bag. Completely different design, shape, size and materials. A mate who received his at the same time I believe is still using it daily 30 years later. For $49, I'm sure this pack will serve it's target market well, just not for 30 years.

    • -1

Or have some class and buy a 50 year-old well-made high-quality leather one off eBay that will last ten times as long as any of that shit.

      • +2

and use half your carry on weight allowance

        • +1

I'm not sure we even have an allowance in 1st.

      • There's no way you'd get an actual vintage leather pack for $49. If you've seen one please PM me the link so I can buy and resell..

        • Well depends what's on eBay at the time, but this kind of one will probably go for about that amount https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/404125641450

          • +1

@hotphil: Doesn't look like a backpack to me. I guess if you wanted a briefcase (do people still use briefcases?) but with retro style that might be perfect.

            • @apsilon: I still use a briefcase, because classy guy. Backpacks are for nylon-lovers who like to spend their life blocking trains and smacking people in the face with their disposable Dell bag

              • +3

@hotphil: You seem like a stable, well adjusted human being

                • @Tycn: In future please use the /s tag to avoid further confusion for…certain people.

              • @hotphil: Good for you, don't let others tell you what to do. Personally I haven't needed to carry papers around for a very long time and believe I would've disposed of my last brief case 20 years ago but I know some people still print their emails to read them (not saying you do) so kudos for sticking to your ways.

                • @apsilon: My laptop fits exactly where the papers would go. And it's got zipper pockets all over the place for the other stuff a modern, techy guy needs to carry around town while looking good.

  • +2

How does it help you assault someone?

Lightweight and versatile, the Blackhawk 3-Day Assault Pack

    • +4

      Just add bricks

    • +1

how does an apple help you air anything?

  • Where is this "the exterior of the entire pack is covered with S.T.R.I.K.E. webbing"? Can't see no webbing in the photos…?

  • Great price… Gonskie !

  • +1

Antifa backpack, Mostly peaceful protest here. Lol

  • ffs….missed it. about to go travelling to 3rd world places and needed slash proof bags.

    • +1

These are lightweight nylon, definitely not slash proof.

      • Sorry, I misread as resists 'Cuts' as being slash proof. I suppose id need Kevlar for that haha

  • We’ll now where am I going to store my tactical CQC pen and my tactical helmet-mountable LED torch and my tactical carabiner key ring when I’m assaulting Krispy Kreme

    • +1

      You don't assault Krispy Kreme.

      Krispy Kreme assaults you.

    • Wear all black with a Balaclava to finish the outfit.
