this could be useful for HH members who didnt meet the min stay requirement last year.
Hilton is running a promotion where if you stay for 1 night before 31 March, you get your current status extended for one year.
Its a targeted offer and other ppl have mentioned that their targeted promotion require 2 stays to keep gold. however i am a diamond member and the one i got only requires one stay.
If you didnt receive this offer, you can contact Hilton to get them add this one to your account.
I never met the requirements for the past 5 years but somehow my status has diamond.. not sure how..i do get the email as well to stay 1 night.

I think Hilton is quite generous with their status compared to Accor and IHG
agreed, free breakfast, free lounge are really good, just the hotels are bit on the expensive side for me :)

i also had a mobile number which i could makes requests and they would assist (for room allocation, configurations etc)
@djones145: room allocation (and floorplan) is on the app - thats pretty cool. Early check in is normally ok after say 12-1pm but late checkout is not anymore after covid, sometimes its hard to even get 2pm these days and I was told few times 1pm is the best they can do :( Overall still very happy, I think best loyalty program out there, lots of benefits for diamond (y)
@qq830821: I got the maximum 60 nights rollover, so I should be ok till 2025 ;) yes I do travel a lot, hence I'd prefer a bit cheaper chain than H. :)

it hasnt been communciated well (as always) bt its defintiely there if you have it in your offer. just double check with Hilton

I got my Hilton gold about 7 years ago through virgin gold match and despite me supposed to have to meet qualification each year I never have and still keep it … it’s gold (sorry) anyone else the same?

Most likely the DoubleTree. Though the new Hilton on Little Queen Street (yes this street actually exists) has a lounge if you're Diamond (or Gold and get lucky). I've stayed at both even though I'm in Melbourne.
Stayed at the Hilton on Little Queen St. It was average, nothing to rave about. They served steamed dim sims for evening canapes. Not what you'd expect from a five star hotel. No fridge to help yourself to drinks. You have to request from the staff and glass is half full with ice. No breakfast was served in the lounge. Charge of $10 to upgrade to the full buffet breakfast. Hotel restaurant not open for dinner on a Sunday night. They advertise an all day in room dining menu but you can only order food till 11pm.
Lounge at Hilton GG is miles ahead of the Melbourne one.
You need to stay for it to count.
If you don't want to stay, you can check in, leave the keycard on the table and leave straight away. Housekeeping will just come the next day and check you out automatically.
I'm Diamond and didn't get this email though it appears in my account. I called Hilton but the Honors line isn't open until 8am CST time. Will call back and find out how many nights I need. Thanks OP.

I can see that the offer is already 'Active' on my account, but as others have posted no confirmation of required nights of stay.
Just rang Hilton Honors and tried to confirm that I only need to stay 1 night to maintain Diamond, but they could not help me.
Told to me to send an email to ask, which sounds very generic.

A few tips as Hilton customer care agents are notoriously useless
I was few nights short from diamond previously, checked and noticed I was already enrolled and 2 days later, I received an email with heading "you're automatically registered! Secure elite status with 1 stay". As I was already enrolled and had a booking in Jan, already good for extension.
If you are already enrolled, and want to find out how much nights.. I would say be patient and wait for your email.

Anyone here ever got upgraded to a suite from basic room at hilton sydney? I am planning to stay a night just for the sake of extending it..
I used to use quite a lot for family or friends when in town. Had upgrades to junior suite multiple times and what they used to call relaxation suite (something like ambassador suite now) before their reno.
Even before COVID, I found Hilton Sydney to be one of the most unwilling place in the world to give suite upgrade. Heard that it only got worse since the lockdown has been lifted. So, good luck!

just came back from Hilton sydney today. diamond member, asked for suite upgrade at check in but the guy said all full and only upgraded me to a higher floor. breakfast is like RSL breakky now. no smoke salmon, no fresh juice, very limited options. if you want to order coffee thats $5 a cup.
Lounge packed during HH. i dont understand why they continue to serve prawns in the lounge. sth like mini burger or prawn meat will make it a lot less messy.
It used to be a great hotel but now is on par with a 4 star hotel. or a three star hotel in asia
was never impressed Hilton Sydney. Having said that, I would say Sydney hospitality industry has all gone downhill.
p.s. 5 bucks a coffee thing was introduced around last 6 years at least.
They are all cutting back one way or the other. The Hilton GC used to have their lounge on or near the top floor, now it has been relocated to level 2 or something low down. No decent views anymore.
Just stayed at Curio West Hotel and $5 for a small coffee :(

I can confirm I stayed two nights (one stay) in early January. Just opened my app now and there was a message saying my status (gold) will remain in 2023.
Just an update, dont know how I did it (maybe it was this deal) but after 5 night stay in Jan my Diamond status has been extended till 31 March 2025

EDIT: I replied back to this email and double confirmed with them, its not 2024, but 2025 for me.
It popped up on my hilton app and then showed on desktop website when I logged in but I dont know where I saw it on website as cant find again now.
Diamond also extended to 2025 stayed only 1 night… check your monthly statement

I shared this post with my Dad (thanks for posting OP!) and he was due to loose his Diamond status in April. He activated in his online account and has now made a nights stay. Just waiting to see if the status changes on his account. Anyone had any luck so far and how long did it take if it showed the Diamond status has been retained?

Yes, I stayed the one night in Feb and when the monthly report came out last week it showed my expiry to be 31/3/2024
I completed my stay on the weekend just past and I can see that the stay has been recorded but on my app account it still says a number of nights required to retain Diamond.
