Amaysim Recharge Vouchers 20% off at Woolworths

120

AmaySIM recharge vouchers are available from Woolworths at 20% off.
It appears that you need to use your Everyday Rewards card you get the discount.

Minimum recharge amount is $10 (effectively $8 cost).

I have just stocked up last night (Wed) as the expiry of the vouchers is January 2013.
the credit expiry is the usual 90 days (there is a note on the voucher that this is extended another 30 days)

Not sure when the deal expires, but I think it is towards end of July.
If anyone can provide feedback, I will update title.

EDIT:No link provided, as it is in-store only deal.
Enjoy.

Mod: Edited link
Mod: Changed expiry

  • Can the $10 value be applied to anything that costs $10, e.g. call allowance, data pack? I think I will need a data pack in January so this is opportune for me.

  • What is the minimum voucher value? $10 or $25? that would make a big difference.

    • Minimum is $10, which is less than the minimum of $15 online, meaning that if you are on As You Go, the minimum spend can be just over $40/year (recharge every 90 days required).

        Great deal.
Btw, I just checked Amaysim online, previously it was $15 minimum, now it is $10 minimum too.

Great, that's news to me. But I'm going to try to get it for $8 if I can. :)

        • Of course, why not, me too :D

        • I see that the expiry of the credit when purchased online from Amaysim is 90 days.
Part of the attraction for buying through Woolies/DickSmith was the 120 day expiry.
However, my last voucher purchased recently from DSE is only 90 days. When did that change?

        • Expiry of the voucher or expiry of the credit? If expiry of voucher, couldn't you buy it closer to when you need it? (Except when you are trying to get it for 20% off :)

        • credit. edited.

        • It's been 90 days validity for the credit for as long as I've been with them (about 1 year). It doesn't make sense that credit from a voucher would last longer than credit from online, they would have to track two kinds of credit for your account. Maybe it was some time back that credit lasted 120 days?

        • voucher expiry is January 2013 (in O.P)

then once you actually add that voucher to your account its value lasts 90 days…

        • @greenpossum
The credit expiry date is set when the voucher is loaded. It definitely was 120 days when purchased from Dick Smith or Woolworths within the past year.

Perhaps it was a special deal. I can't find anything here about it. I assumed it was ongoing.

          I just bought a $10 voucher for $8.
It clearly says on the voucher that you will get an extra 30 days credit when recharge at Woolworths / DSE / BigW. So that's 90+30=120 days in total.

My voucher expiry is April 2013, yeah, not just January!
          Must buy another one tomorrow!

        • Nice. I'm on my way.

What is the link for the deal?

  • -1

where is the link/page for this offer? I cant seem to find it.

  • How does it work if you have the rolling $40 unlimited deal? can you recharge before they hit you for the month>

    • Maybe you could revoke the automatic debit and charge manually just before expiry? Dunno.

    • Yes you can. Any credit on the account will be used to roll over UNLIMITED. If you have 30 bucks extra on your account and UNLIMITED renews, it will use the $30 and take $9.90 from your credit card. (If you have $40 on your number, then it will renew using the credit and you will have 10c left on your number).

    • We do the $39.95 "unlimited" using vouchers. There is no need to have it auto-deducted. That method makes Amaysim into a Prepaid Plan.

From teh checkouts you can get a $39.95 voucher as well as the normal $15 and $30 or whatever.

      • Just cancel your automatic credit card recharge, buy $39.90 vouchers and use them to recharge your account. You can enter as many vouchers as you want at once and they will be sitting in your account until required for each month recharge. Then your account will be recharged automatically when time comes.

The deal was advertised on small banners attached to the cash register.

    Expires 24th July.

    Voucher expires 1/04/13

Voucher says "Want more time with your credit? now last an extra 30 days when you recharge at any participating Woolworths, Woolworths Petrol, Dick Smith or Big W outlet."

Voucher says "Even better: You have 90 days to use your credit." which is inconsistent with the above.

I'm expecting 120 days before expiry.

  • Got a couple, thanks OP.

Tip: Take a pen and copy the voucher number in larger numerals on the voucher. It will also save your eyesight when you recharge. Or scan the voucher. These vouchers fade with time. You don't want to find next March that your voucher is a blank piece of paper.
