Not the lowest but a good price, so get ready for an existential crisis on a quiet night among you mates.
If you love (or hate) your family but want to connect, enjoy socially awkward situations or putting your family and friends in those situations this is the game for you!

I personally thought it was good and worth playing at least once if not a few times with different people, but can see how this game might be a bit much for some people.

Product blurb:
How are you, really? We're Not Really Strangers is a purpose driven card game and movement all about empowering meaningful connections. It includes three carefully crafted levels of questions and wildcards that allow you to deepen your existing relationships and create new ones. Level 1 is about gaining perspective on what first impressions we give off and challenging the assumptions we make about others. Level 2 is about asking the rarely asked questions and connecting on a deeper level. Level 3 is for reflecting on your game experience and the connections you’ve made throughout. The deck includes 150 questions and wildcards, 2 pencils, a WNRS-branded notepad, and 2 Dig Deeper cards. The Dig Deeper cards are meant to encourage transparency. If you feel your partner is holding back, you can put down a Dig Deeper card to prompt them to open up even more. This game is optimized for 2 players; however, you can play with up to 6 people. There are only two ways to play this game: 1. Play safe. 2. Play to grow. The second is how you win. Ready?

That sounds like hell to me. Or one of those 'team building' weekend work get-aways.

Quite the review here from 'Kirsty':
I was sceptical for this game but brought to play with one of my best friends. Stuck to the rules being completely open, honest and vulnerable, working our way up through to the 3rd level. I’m never going to play this game again because it’s taken a week to recover emotionally and my friend told me that he no longer wants me to be friends. This game is really eye opening but be careful who you play with if you’re prepared to lose them

    • Haha yea some of the reviews are probably quite extreme/accurate, but i'd say that there's a large sample of people who enjoyed it withut getting too emotional, like I said it'll be a bit too much for some but allow an out from answering, gauge the situtation? :P

    • Probably for people who don't run from their emotions and can handle hearing other people's stories.

I can vouch for this game/experience. I've had a lot of great in-depth conversations using it. A lot of the media produced only really shows the early questions of the game, they get more involved as you progress. They also show strangers playing it typically. I'd suggest it's much better played with people whom you at least know a little, but it does work regardless of your relationship to the person.
Buy it if you're wanting a tool to engage in deeper conversations. Don't buy it for the "game" aspect.

  • How does this compare to game of stories
