Haven't tried this variety before, but it's Australian grown, and 25% cheaper than the usual SunRice 5kg @ $12 discounts.
Not sure how long this deal will last. Bought a bag at my local HF just now, there was good stock, so thought I'd post here.

who won the war though?
In the end capitalism (free market). Either way just glad to see Vietnam advancing into the great country it should be
wrong answer - rice won
India Gate or nothing
Hope it's good.
Last time I bought Sunrise Vietnamese Jasmine, it had no fragrance at all. It's better to buy Woolworths Thai jasmine rice in a small pack.
That's cheap, consider the SunRice Jasmine being sold in Coles/Woolworths are 'Product of Vietnam' and price has increased to $12 for 5kg (when half price).
Coles and Woolworths are pretty trash in most ways when people think about it. There is almost always a better and cheaper alternative.
Please update title with NSW & QLD. Harris Farm is not available in other states.
That's somewhat misleading as you are implying the deal is exclusive to Harris Farms in NSW & QLD, and give people the idea Harris Farms have now been setup in other states. Better not to mention location if a store doesn't exist in those locations. Otherwise we will have Woolworths (AU only) and Coles (AU only)?
I stopped buying rice in bulk when one day I found I hadn't properly sealed the container I kept it in, and then spent about a month dealing with weevil infestation in my apartment.
Lovely to have lots of quality rice on hand. To do it again if have to find space in the freezer top put it for a week before putting in storage container
Huge Jars with Clamp Shut rubber Seals done the job for me.
Eat more rice
Boycott Australian grown rice.
Save our rivers and environment by buying Asian rice.
For quality rice at a great price go to Costco, Asian or Indian grocers and ignore the supermarkets
Yep. The best Jasmine rice is Thai (I just steal some from mum when I need it because she buys 20kg bags). I used to buy basmati from coles when it was half price, until I went to an Afghan grocer and asked what's the best basmati? The guy pointed at a yellow bag of golden sella xxl rice and it's it so much better. The grains are long and don't break. When I first opened the bag it smelled a bit weird and the rice has a yellowish tint. It is seriously some of the best rice I've ever had. I will never buy any rice from Coles Woolies ever again.
Haha that's an interesting idea. You're arguing rice is fairly environmentally unfriendly, so push the growing of it to other countries so it's not our problem?
some countries are better suited than others
The argument is to push the growth of it to countries with climates more suitable for rice growing.
The 10kg Royal Feast is currently $19 at WW, cleaned so could save some cooking time. Not sure about the others cuz not mentioned in the description.
The price for the 20 kg at the Asian store near me is $35 - $50 (Thailand > Vietnam > Cambodia) and somewhat the top range chosen to be exported
Jasmine has higher GI than sugar itself. Not sure what Jasmine Topaz Rice is, but look at other varieties.
I don't know if normal long grain rice has changed over the years, but whenever we try it, it always seems to be not cooked right, dry and yet undercooked.
I've moved from jasmine to basmati & short grain, I like it much better
I find it hard to eat basmati for cuisines other than South Asian. Do you eat it with other cuisines?
Yes, if you are concerned about health etc, i believe Basmati is meant to be one of the best.
Omg
What’s my option in SA
I want SUNRICE JASMINE TOPAZ RICE 10KG where I can find it in SA?
