I scored the eBay deal $69, then bought tracks off AliExpress hours of fun.
Link to the functional AliExpress tracks please?
@shap08: I upvoted because I haven't seen these before but at first I thought it was that big loop track for $30 but the $30 is just for the ramp. How many sets did you buy and how much out of pocket were you?
@King Steuart: I bought the $72 set and another rail crossing. All up about $90. They connected with the original Lego tracks as well.
Got this for $69 from Big W eBay last year.
It's not the most interesting train set. The 2nd and 3rd part of the train( is this called carriage? Haha) are 99% identical. But my 6yo and 8yo enjoyed.
My kids have been building this over the holidays
Got it for $69 though
Wouldn’t have paid $150
I bought an older variation and found the use of batteries to run the train really frustrating. Just checked reviews and people say you need 10 AAA batteries to run this. I think ours needed 6 x AA, but bottom line you'll need to get rechargeables, and twice as many so you can have a set in the train and another charging. I reckon you get 10-20 minutes out of the train, but could be more. But the kicker is that the battery pack becomes part of the assembled train so you are doing mild assembly and disassembly to get it in and out.
There were LEGO sets that had big USB battery packs and they may be available as an upgrade, but this set doesn't use the.
I also second the post about buying extra track off Ali. Also consider a lighting kit if your kids are getting into it, although this train comes with a headlight.
We bought this for the ahem 'kid' for Christmas. He absolutely loves crashing it into other lego things. Definetly need extra track though as others mentioned. Goes much fasterthan I expected. Batteries are a pain but if you are on ozbargain you probably have plenty of eneloops already :)
just had mine delivered I bought for $175 rip.
Good price. Shame it's the most boring train set in a while. The two previous offerings were more interesting
