Same, I use a TDS (total dissolved solids) tester
Can you pls provide a link where I could get one? Pref Amazon
I have this one but I'm sure a cheaper and well reviewed unit works just as well.

@TEER3X: Thank you 😊
I have one of those but I find my reading doesn't change much after filtering ( from tap 170 -ish; after filtering: 130-ish). How about you?
Tap water is already of extremely high standard in Australia, so this makes sense.
I'm fact I'm surprised it drops by as much as it shows !
@Nom: Hygiene-wise, sure I agree. But the TDS is for testing the hardness of the water and it's preferably under 70(or 60?) or the water is considered hard water.
I'm not saying hard water is not drinkable but personally speaking, definitely not desirable.
This. Don't bother as it's also an incredibly imprecise way to tell when the filter needs changing, as that depends on how much you use it.
Just go off the taste of the water and when you see charcoal bits coming out in the filtered water. Those are usually decent indications.

aw
they not meant to replace. They want you to buy new jug plus filters
Thx ordered 100

It's a useless indicator designed to remind you to buy consumables from the manufacturer on time (for them) not when your filter actually requires changing.
Go by taste.
Go by taste or setup a bi-monthly reminder on your phone or whatever arbitrary duration you choose works for you. Or go by taste.
my timer still works……but i just dont use it
