    • Length 37cm, too long…

    • Different product.

      • ah.. yes it is.. sorry.. my apologies.

Just hate the USB dongle thingie. It should be Bluetooth, otherwise once you loose the USB its a garbage show piece.

    • +4

Bet it’s garbage straight out of the box.

        For your convenience

I'd like to agree… But it's actually super nice. It's basically a rip off of the Logitech k390 (?) But they made it thinner. It's plastic but it feels almost aluminium. I got one on Monday and I was really impressed. No issues I can see so far other than it takes aaa cells

        • +1

Probably should clarify: it does have a cheap plastic exterior, it's Kmart brand after all. But its super thin and has steel inside reinforcing it, so it feels expensive on the inside, if that makes any sense.

The USB key looks like what you'd buy for about 3c tho. Don't know how long it will last. But in my brief test it didn't have any issues with delays or unresponsiveness

          • @pinkybrain: Thats the one! Normally I double check specifics but I was on mobile. I remember they were big 8 (?) years ago. Quite a few deals on them around $30 or so from officeworks. Good keyboard, I'm using one now, but they are thicker and if you lose the usbkey, which its so easy to do, it costs $15 to get a new one

            • @outlander: yeah was checking for Logitech k390 but didn't find any info on google

              So you have both keyboards?

Are they both the same in terms of length but K400 just thicker (and by how much)?

Can you comment on build quality of both keyboards
and how the keys feel to press and the trackpad etc?

I'm not a peripheral conniseur, so take my words with the weight they deserve, but it's pretty good. It feels like the build quality is better than the logitech, that's for sure, although the track pad is placed lower so you can't rest your wrist on the keyboard.

Trackpad is good, no major trouble there. Feels just like every basic laptop trackpad to me. Keys are a little high and individual, which is not a criticism, it's just not what I'm used to. It feels like a chrome book laptop to me

I bought mine for tech work, so thats the standard I'm working to. Your needs might be different.

I got one and the build quality is pretty good, not what youd expect from an elcheapo kmart keyboard. The keys themselves did feel a little hollow though. Trackpad is also multi-touch and allows you to 2 finger scroll and zoom. Also being 2.4 wireless means you can use this in bios. I wish it was rechargeable though instead of needing AAA. I also played around with the mechanical keyboard with blue switches from the same brand on display and if you dont mind the switches themselves they seemed decent enough for the money too. All in all good buy for $10, have paid more for worse.

  • They seem to be clearing out a few tech items

    Here's a ergonomic keyboard with bluetooth $15 was $45
    https://www.kmart.com.au/product/wireless-ergonomic-keyboard…

and a regular bluetooth keyboard $15 was $25

    • What makes you say the first one is Bluetooth? It’s got a dongle and no Bluetooth from what I saw.

      • Just going off the description

Enjoy hassle-free connectivity with this Bluetooth enabled wireless keyboard

        • Looks like the listing is incorrect, there is no Bluetooth. Verified with instruction booklet.

          • @hashtagbargain: Thats a bugger. Is there a way to put the keyboard into paring mode? Then you can scan for bluetooth devices with your phone.
I don't think it will work but its always worth a shot

    Got mine today.
Good build quality, I was shockingly surprised to see the build quality on a $10 cheap keyboard.
Also, yes I dont think its got bluetooth, which is a bummer.

I managed to hook it up to my Steam Deck with a USB c hub using the 2.4 ghz dongle that came with the keyboard.

Works well on the Steam Deck.

Cannot complain for $10. Good buy ! thanks for posting OP.
