The bigger problem is probably the charger (and cable) has been counterfeited to hell, and the generic pictures in the listing doesn't help.
This is my listing - I had to order and provision a lot of iPads at my job and had these left over (as we use dock setups already). So all legit Apple items. I've sold probably 50+ of each over the past couple years as I often need to get more iPads.
I looked at the photo of the cables and it looks like they come from some device boxes yet your description "What’s in the Box" implies it is a retail boxed product
I'm not a shop, that is my personal profile so not hundreds of reviews. All positive reviews except 1 order I had to cancel and 2 that shipping took a while. Just to clarify for you if it adds to your confidence.
this is a bit of a rough downvote tbh, seller has been good in the comments
I appreciate that, thanks.
For $3 extra on Amazon, it’s much better choice for after sales support and warranty
That's fair. I'd definitely refund any that had issues but have sold a lot of these in the past and haven't had any returns yet.
Or even for those who like eBay (maybe they have vouchers to use), here’s the same item for $21.99. Cheaper than OP:

Ah no that one definitely looks dodgy
Does it? I’m out of the loop then on counterfeit goods.
@wormarts: those images look straight out of Aliexpress, down to the Chinese power socket with the charger plugged into the US position.
I got caught once, luckily eBay refunded me. Then I realised for the price of what I have paid for the phone I better stick to reputable sellers.@rpb: Eep! Good to know. Thanks mate.
Can't wait till Apple swap over to usb c so I don't have to get spanked paying $20 a cable
If the seller is a person and not a company shouldn’t this be posted in the forum? No consumer rights for a couple of bucks less than rrp is not a bargain anyway
Great point… i would agree, pay the extra $3 for brand new and peace of mind…
Example, $28 sold by Amazon AU - Apple 20W USB-C Power Adapter https://amzn.asia/d/a3qlgmTIt’s quite sketchy too. Quoting the seller “I had to order and provision a lot of iPads at my job and had these left over (as we use dock setups already).”
How do I know if he has the right to sell it? For all we know he could have stolen it from the company. And what about the taxes. Has the charger been donated to this person who is now selling privately? Doesn’t sounds right to sell something privately that was bought as a company
Even for new items purchased on eBay from a store, if it breaks after 30 days you're completely on your own. Every time I've chased warranty on ebay I've been ignored. I've sworn off them, there's a decent chance an ebay purchase is money down the drain.
78 recently ratings, some of them not quite good. Even some of the neutral or positive ones are based on refunds. 205 sold items since 2015. No, thanks.
