    Thanks, OP!

This is a decent deal for such monitor size.

Minor debat on "premium colour reproduction". Less than 100% on sRGB gamut is barely premium.

Probably not a concern on everyday gaming though.

well its only 60hz so not really for gaming either

    • I just got Samsung 34 inch CH892 monitor yesterday from Samsung. I was considering USB-C to connect Macbook Air to the monitor, its both sharing the display and charging at the same time.

  • who are they pricematching?

    • I really don't understand this pricing system . Amazon had samsung 34 inch curved monitor for $730 one day, next day it was $670, following day it was $655 and today it is $675 while other retailers including samsung selling for $779.

      • +2

Might be based on how many are selling. They just adjust it to get the rate of sales they want and maximise profit?

      • airplane ticket

        price discrimination

  • How much is the pd via USB-C?

    • Looks to be 90W

  • +1

Solid buy, 90w type c, IPS. And a very underrated RJ45 jack.

Perfect for a general WFH setup. I'd totally buy it if I had the space to separate my gaming and my WFH setup.. Sadly they're one and the same ha.

    • What's RJ45 for?

      • +3

Wired LAN, it just means you use the one USBC dock for the extra ports + ethernet adaptor

basically saves you having a dock, as it functions like one

Does anyone have this and experience the fuzzy text issue with MB m1, M1 Pro or M2 chips?

I have a 14inch MB M1 Pro and want to upgrade my 1080p to a 3440x1440p or 4K monitor. I’d prefer the ultra wide since it’s for productivity but I heard the text in ultra wides can be fuzzy since it doesn’t scale well with apple silicone chips.

    • "Fuzzy Text" doesn't really say what the problem is .. I would suspect its an incorrect resolution from OSX preferring to use set resolution sizes. I know on my LG 38 Ultrawide the magical "more space" setting on Display preferences does not give you 1:1 pixels which results in the display scaling up the proved image resulting is everything looking soft and a little larger then you would expect..

Try a 3rd party app to set your screen resolution accurately… this one is free.

      • Did you manage to get HiDPI mode working for this screen? I guess I'm getting old, but things are a tiny bit too small for my eyes!

        • Sorry haven't tried or looked into it - I'm not interested in HiDPi on a non-retina screen - I want to use all the pixels.

  • Anyone know the curvature for this monitor?

    • +3

Flat screeners will tell you all screens are flat 😂

      • and the earth is flat as well..

  • tempting but want to see it in person first…

    • Easy amazon returns if you’re not happy isn’t it?

      • Does Amazon do change of mind?

        • If you select change of mind during the process I think you get charged to some degree. Some % fee. I usually select 'not fit for purpose' which doesn't appear to have the same fee attached.

At least I think that's how it was my last return. It's been a while.

Worth extra to spend a bit more to get ozbargains favourite s3422dwg at $648?

Think the dell is a fair bit brighter and can get 6% cashrewards to bring it down to around $609

    • +1

VA panel. I do have it and rate it though, no issues

      • dang still conflicted

        • +1

I got mine for $499 about a year ago though, I wouldn't pay $648 for it.

          • +1

@essent1al: guess i'll just wait as ideally id probably want 1 for home office and 1 for office office haha

    • +2

no usb c in the dell

  • Refresh rate not listed anywhere on the product page, guessing its no good lol

  • +2

Was able to get the Dell S3423DWC for $592.79 via live chat, which i think is a better deal than this

    • +1

great. how is the dell better than this. I ordered the lg but am thinking of cancelling and getting the dell as i have a dell laptop and it looks better.

      • i wanted the higher refresh rate. The LG has other things going for it like more USB dowstream ports and an ethernet port, but those didnt really matter to me.

        • Dell support is several orders of magnitude better than LG..

You best hope you dont have any issues with LG.

It is a nightmare to get anything troubleshooted properly.

          • +1

@CauseNEffect: That is one thing I will agree with. Last time I dealt with Dell, multiple times, their support was amazing. I think their engineering is shit, but their support is great!

    • Did they confirm delivery date? For some reason sometimes the delivery dates can be anything for 2 weeks to 2 months and seem to vary wildly…

      • +1

It shipped the day after purchase and arrived the day after that.

60hz so office content not gaming.

    • I play mostly 4x games at 60hz and don't really suffer for it.

Also, does this monitor even advertise itself as a gaming monitor?

I kinda feel on both accounts your neg is quite invalid.

    • +1

and so is that a reason to neg it? not everyone buys things for gaming

  • -1

There's better options around and LG support is absolute trash. I cant give a +. I can go no vote as best, if i could.

    • got any examples? curious as looking for a Ultra wide

      • Yes, they are hopeless. I had a case open with them for months who only agreed to have a repair centre look at it after months of stuffing around with them blaming everything else imaginable (video card, cables etc). The overseas support was litteraly the worst from any company ive ever experienced an endless cycle of asking the same basic questions repeatedly. Ill be stearing clear of LG in the future given the choice.

  • Is it better to wait for the xiaomi deal? My partner is waiting for a deal to get a monitor for her WFH space

    • the Xiaomi one is VA and doesn't have USB C hub/dock

      • True but I don't think they're issues for my partner. There's approximately a $180 price difference between the xiaomi monitor and this one - are those two features worth the extra price?

  • Is this a good size to replace a 2 screen monitor setup?

    • +1

I personally prefer it as it gets rid of the dead spot in the middle of a dual monitor setup. it also saves your neck etc depending on how close you sit and with the Windows 11 windo management its not really an issue to have one giant canvas vs having two separate monitors

      • Thanks. Will this work with a MacBook Air M2 directly or it'll require a dock?

        • +1

Hesitant to answer as even without having a macbook i've seen all the nightmare posts about things not working.

you can say it's a blessing that this is on amazon because you can return it for free if it doesn't work so i reckon it's worth a try

the monitor also has the typical HDMI connections so you can just use those if it doesn't work with USBC

  • Power delivery?

  • Considering this instead of 2 x 4k 32" (already own 1 x S2722QC). Used mostly for 3D work. Thoughts? Ideally I'd have gone with 1 x 38" but too spenno for an IPS. Thanks

  • Hi OP and others.
in the market for thus and comparing it across the other 2 listed. Any feedback on pros vs cons?
    AOC - CU34G2X
    LG - 34WQ75C
    Dell - S3422DWG

Use is work productivity only. Ill be running it as 2nd monitor to an old iMac using a citrix connection into work and my wife will use as a second monitor connected to work laptop.

i may in the future try to move it to another room which is study / Sim racing rig but for now its only for WFH setup.
