    Doogee or dodgy…?

    • doge!

      Howser

      • M.D.

  • It so weird, on aliexpress listing picture it say 108MP camera then on description it say 16MP…..

    • Yeah someone in their marketing team has screwed up by adding the specs for one of their phones instead of the tablet on a single thumbnail.

      • No netflix HD most likely means unlocked bootloader.

Netflix HD widevine L1 requires locked bootloader.

        • +1

Not applicable in this case because it's a tablet designed for the international market. Netflix HD requires Widevine L1 DRM and Netflix certification. Other services like Prime only require L1 DRM.

          • @Clear: The only way to be sure is someone to buy this and post a screenshot, otherwise its just assumption.

Maybe you can buy this and let us know?

Got caught twice with Xiaoxin and Redmi pad and Seller updated the descriptions after complaint was made.

            • +2

@[Deactivated]: Both of those are tablets designed for the Chinese market. The assumption was that their global ROMs were legit because previous Lenovo Xiaoxin tablets had an equivalent P11 tablet for the international market and the Xiaomi Pad 5 has a global release. Unfortunately the latest Xiaoxin's have no global equivalent so they have dodgy ROMs.

This tablet is 100% designed for the international market and actually sold by Doogee instead of some unofficial store. If it was really a Chinese-only tablet there'd be no Google Play.

              • @Clear: Ok, Xiaoxin is understandable, and it was cheappie ass tablet, so most probably won't be using for sensitive tasks like banking or trading.

But $300 Redmi Pad should have at least official Global Rom with locked bootloader.

Tho the Redmi Pad specs and hardware live up to its name. The screen and speakers are probably the best amongst $300ish and under tablets.

      That's pretty dodgy

  • Also if you check on the customer review photo, it showing 20MP writing for rear camera. I'm just so confused what's the real MP for the rear camera 🤣

  • As usual do your own research before buying Chinese tablets. It is confirmed that Lenovo Xiaoxin 2022 and Xiaomi Redmi Pad 'Global' Rom edition with Google Play has the bootloader UNLOCKED.

If you try to lock the bootloader for security it will stuck at boot loop or recovery mode. ONly the official Chinese Rom can have its bootloader locked, and they don't support Google Play/Services.

So buy at your own risk.

      • Android 16? You would be too after getting a boot through ya head.

My xiaomi phone has bootloader unlocked and never had a problem with Google play/services.
That phone was Chinese rom and flashed it to global rom and never had any issues.

Also owned a doogee phone that was unlocked and no issues with that either.

      • which model?

Samsung galaxy tab a8, Don't buy it. I've had this tablet for a month now and I'm done with it. The screen is terrible.
If you have a 10 inch screen you need a 2k pixel density, mandatory.

    • +7

Are you saying this doogee tablet is bad or the tab a8 is bad?

      • -1

Samsung galaxy Tab a8 is bad.

        • +2

So how is it relevant to this thread?

          • -2

@jackspratt: Doogee T20 has a 2k screen density and Samsung galaxy tab a8 has a 1080p. The Samsung cost more and has worse screen. Doogee has a better screen. Shall I go on.

@mckayver: No, but if you're going to post stuff like this make at least SOME attempt to be clear and make sense.

              • +1

@mickeyjuiceman: I'm still trying to work out what his whinge about a completely different tablet - which hasn't been mentioned previously on this thread - has to do with the OP. 🤔
