  • awesome!

  • Where do you find these clear?

    • +8

I'm associated with companies on OzBargain who have AliExpress stores.

Thanks for your posts, always come in handy!

      • Anything for the redmi pad global version? Unfortunately the code doesn’t work on xiaomi’s official store :(

    • +1

AliExpress will be like Amazon is after eBay. Just sort by orders and check reviews simple.

    • +6

50ish orders since November and only one DOA which I've been refunded for.

      • +4

Yup why pay 20-40% extra on eBay/Amazon or big retail store when you can save money.

        Add cashbacks etc

        • +3

The HN fanboys who get kickbacks are going to get angry?

      • I'm over 1000 orders of more than 6,000 items now. Any issues almost always go in my favor. Just know the procedures and stay in the time frames. Oh and also dont order really late in Jan or early feb if you want it quickly. Things get impacted by Chinese new year holidays.

    • +5

Yes, I buy things off that place and they are legitimate, functional or durable items.

On the rare occasion I have had issues, the dispute process has been decent for me.

    • those 3 for $5.99 items, listing regular update, fast shipping

    • +1

yes, it's as popular as it is for a reason

    • +4

What kind of question is this? What is this, 2005?
Like Ebay, many good stuff and many low quality products

    • +3

LOL were you born just yesterday? Have had many items shipped without issues. On average, takes about 9-10 days (date ordered to date at my doorstep) from China to where I am, Melbourne, Australia.

      • +4

I've ordered dozens of times from Ali and 9-10 days would not be the norm from my experience . I'm in Perth and 2 weeks would be about as good as it gets . 3 weeks is probably average .
I never order anything from Ali that I'm in a hurry for . Shipping can be all over the place , not the sellers fault .

    • +2

Most expensive items I've got from AliExpress:
      - Android headunit for older car ($660 AUD~)
      - Timegrapher machine ($200 AUD~)

Both are not made by global brands, so you just need to do your own research and consider whether something is okay (for unbranded)

Think of this like China eBay, except it's directly from China and no dropshipper middlemen

Not really an issue with AliExpress these days, sometimes a few bits and bobs missing but can always sort it out with the seller

Hi guys can someone help me to understand how I get this 24$ off?? Please I need a step by step guide. Thank you all very much and happy new year

    • Are you buying an item over $200 USD? Is that item eligible for the voucher?

Like previous months these are on "Selected Items" only and the only way to check is by trying to apply them in the cart.

  • +1

I'm buying an item over 200$ yes. How can I check if the item is eligible for the voucher? Thanks 🙏

    • +1

FYI there's a 'reply' button under each comment that'll directly notify that person that you're making a response

      From the OP (original post):

Like previous months these are on "Selected Items" only and the only way to check is by trying to apply them in the cart.

      • +2

Ah ok all clear. Yeah I'm trying to apply in cart but doesn't look like is working with smartphones…. :( …but thank you I appreciate your help very much

Simply don't order from aliexpress, I made 2 orders on 1 Dec, after few days dispatch date was extended by sellers for one month. Now the seller extend every 2 days. I don't waste time chat with customer service to cancel orders. I wanna see how many extension will be made before I got automatic refund. Absolutely worst company I have seen. Took your money but never shipping out.
    DO NOT BUY FROM IT!!!

    • +4

Sort items by highest orders & buy from one of them. Been using it for years & never had an issue.

    • +5

You need to perform the same due diligence process as eBay, Amazon or any other marketplace site.

      • Ensure you're buying a reputable product (Off site reviews/forums/etc to assess brand rep/product)
      • Check seller's positive feedback percentage
      • Check Product reviews
      • Check Shipping details
      • Be aware of global events that may affect your order
  • +2

Once again not applicable to any Poco or Xiaomi phones that I've tried, god damn

  • Out of interest, do people mind sharing what kinds of products you prefer to purchase from AliExpress? I've made a handful of purchases before, but I am obviously not as accustomed to it as Amazon, for example.

  • Code doesn't work for camera lenses, sad!!!

  • JAN6 is only maxed out what the…. had to update my card details and whoosh gone….

also the minimum spend amount is wrong i think.

and can anyone tell me how referal works on this site? used the app on my gf's phone and invite friend page just directs to download the app instead of showing the code…

    • JAN6 is still showing as valid for me. Did you make it to payment on an order and close out to update your payment method? That would count as a redemption and if so it should appear under "My Orders" as unpaid.

also the minimum spend amount is wrong i think.

The US$ minimum spend amounts are direct from AliExpress. If you've set your currency to AUD on AliExpress that's why there would be inconsistencies.

    Shipping: AU $96.52
From China to Australia via UPS Expedited

    quote above for 96c tweezers!

    • If you need tweezers shipped by UPS then yes.

    • Or look at the next item for $1 that has free shipping.

  • +1

Is it still best practice to change currency from AUD to USD on the site and pay using an international fee free credit card?

    • +1

that's the way I do it :) seems to be best value

Thanks mate hope all is well - finally bit the bullet on a Lenovo Yoga Pad Pro (used JAN24 coupon) :)

    • How come it says "We don't recognize this promo code. Have another try" when I applied? How did you get it to work?

      • US$6 off US$50, US$9 off US$80, US$14 off US$140, US$24 off US$200 Spend on Selected Products @ AliExpress

        and

Ok it blocked my link, so I'll try again, this is the one I bought with screen protector and protective cover. Don't forget the extra $5 coupon.

        https://m.aliexpress.com/item/1005003580401248.html

    • I added the "Lenovo Yoga Pad Pro" to my cart and gave me that error.

      • Could be that the tablet by itself isn't included in the sale but the bundle with case is? Not too sure

  • I wonder if you use the code and sellers dumb down the product for compensation.

    • AliExpress take the hit and not the sellers.

      • The item on Lenovo y90 products are not covered by promo.

        • Ok….

  • Ehat fees is deducted if i pay by debit card?

Sorry never bought anything from them and how is warranty claims?

  • +1

Is this where I whine and moan about the hundreds of dollars I spent on Aliex - yesterday??? I buy a LOT so it's happened quite a few times to me.

  • US$3 off US$25 coupon has now been added. JANUP3

    • JANUP3 not working for me?

      • Likely not eligible.

        • Getting a 'we don't recognise this code message'. JAN6 appears to be working.
