  • 105 of those pieces are sockets.

  • I have this kit and love it. The case is excellent quality, is sealed from weather etc, stays tightly closed because of the additional side latches.
It is very convenient to have everything ready to go.
I bought to get some work done on a car project and it has not let me down.
Now it just stays in my car for emergencies.

I have about 3 bags of tools that I use for work, with doubles of almost everything but this little kit is so handy. Otherwise, my recommendation would be bahco but it doesn't have half the stuff just sitting there.

The case sometimes drops bits out and requires the foam insert it comes with to prevent this being a problem…

    • After a bit of use does everything still fit into their spaces? I have one that I bought a while back and when I open it half of the stuff falls out lol.. it was a cheapo

  • I tried to buy 2x of this sockets set, but the code doesn't apply.
Anybody knows why it applies to OP's but not mine?

    Thanks

Because its correctly categorised under vehicle parts../tools…/socket sets and not home and garden.

  • Any recommendations for a 3/8 ratchet? Don’t need anything high end, but want something better than Kmart.

I don’t need sockets. I’m only looking to upgrade the drive/ratchet… preferably something all metal (so grease/oil wipes off easily).

    • Project farm did a video this. Recommended Gear wrench I think.

      • Isnt "project farm" American?, if so nothing will apply here…

      • Thanks, the car care nut said good things about gear wrench. Seems like significant variability in price here in Au

I grabbed this one from Bunnings couple weeks ago and so far found it's one of my best all rounder:
      - Give you extra torque for easy cracking bolts off and then tighten them carefully thanks to telescopic shaft.
      - Flexible head plus 72 tooth for getting things done in narrow space (not too floppy as my Gearwrench one)
      - Rubber handle for comfort use. I clean my tool with brake cleaner.
      - Price on sale is $61, RRP was about $89

      Cons:
      - Ratchet head slightly thicker than my Gearwrench (13mm vs 15mm)
      - Someone told me telescopic is not built for last. We'll see. Not too sure about warranty either.

      • Thanks, kincrome’s overkill for my needs (hard to justify the $60 odd spend for my infrequent use)

  • Just a heads up. I broke my 3/8 ratchet.

Thought all is good with warranty.

However, they dont stock my 3/8 ratchet anymore.

So my choice is, get a replacement ratchet that wont fit in the set, or get a full refund on the lot.

You can get an entire tool kit replacement.

      • I bought the metric only version…they no longer make a metric only version.

Why would you want a metric set these days ey!!

        • -1

          Yeah refund it then haha.

        • because we use the metric system, duh

  • Not bad.
