The Apple Watch SE GPS + Cellular 40mm Space Grey Aluminium Case with Midnight Sport Band (2021) is a better value proposition. I just got one for $284 with pick up.

The product is on clearance so it'd be worth phoning around for stock.

  Garmin is a completely different product - for those who are serious about fitness versus smartwatch features. I would gladly choose 8 days battery life over barely 2 days.

    +1 for Garmin's battery. Choose Garmin if you have more time for outdoor activities, great gps, and prefer longer life battery.
    
    Choose apple watch if you have iphone (I don't) and don't mind about battery life.
    
    Btw, I have Huawei GT Runner. Long battery life too. Check youtube channel of Quantified Scientist for objective real tests of smart watches.
