  • Ends 9pm right? :)

Edit: Yep SB rep confirmed in their dupe.

    • 15% starts at 5PM

10% bonus for Westpac is for 24hrs

  • +15

    +1 for beating the rep

    • +8

Wouldnt you want the rep to be the Op for the post (to answer any questions)?

For the sake of GYB post coming 19 seconds later, id prefer GYB's.

      • +6

19 seconds was enough time for the universe to be created. If we didn’t hear about these deals from the usual suspects, it might be minutes before we’d otherwise be aware of them…

      • -1

dealbot smashed it in the last 24 hours - 3 posts with a combined total of 1500+ upvotes

        dealbot for PM!

  • +8

    Note:
Cashback is valid when gift cards are used as a payment method

    • +2

I would assume not for the 10% Westpac Bonus though, correct?

      • +10

So yes and no, if gift cards are used as a partial payment and the remaining purchase is via an eligible linked Westpac card, the Bonus Cashback will still be valid from the Westpac Lounge.

        • +4

Thanks for the info! To clarify, in a mixed purchase with GC and Westpac card, would the bonus 10% Westpac cashback be for the total amount, or for only the amount paid on Westpac card?

          • +18

@deal-fomo: Total amount for eBay! Other merchants in the Lounge will have different terms (some stores will deduct any amount paid via gift card from the total), but because eBay is fully stackable, currently it's based on the full transaction amount.

            • @gotyourback: Mine tracked instantly but 15% and 10% both of the part paid by westpac and not the total. Am guessing there will be an uplift later?

              • @Chocobros: Would also like to know.

Only westpac tracked for me and not the full invoiced amount, seems to be the part paid using westpac only.

              • +1

@Chocobros: Hey mate, can you DM me your ShopBack email address? I've had a look at the one you've sent through previously and can't see any transaction having tracked for you from the 27th, only from the 26th so I'll need to take a closer look.

                • @gotyourback: @gotyourback hey sorry only just saw this. Thanks for checking! I double checked and it was the wrong date that I saw.

That being said you needn't bother chasing correct amount any further as sparesbox ebay cancelled my order from the 27th without me asking grrr.

                  Appreciate the assistance!

        • Nice to know!

        • does Westpac include Bank of Melbourne?

  • Are vouchers also valid?

    • +2

In my experience vouchers are stackable, though good to note that Cashback is calculated after any vouchers or promo codes are applied.

      • +2

@gotyourback, so what is the verdict…the personalized eBay plus codes (the ones found in 'summary' page and starts with PLUXxxxx) are they okay to use for this deal or not?

        • Hey mate, I've responded to this query in the past, eBay Plus voucher codes are kinda grey in terms of their validity. In my experience, they are find to use and won't invalidate Cashback, though eBay have indicated that they can be seen as "gaming" so they could be invalid for use, though again, I've never seen any problems. Worth noting that Cashback is calculated after the voucher codes are applied, as they function like a discount code and not like a gift card.

  • Now we need eBay brings some useful >20% off code

  • Valid for any code, any item ?

    • +2

Yep and yep, though note eBay have some exclusion such as Best Offer items, as well as Charity and non-profit items, eBay Plus membership & Travel.

      • Is it just one transaction or can do multiple transactions for the $20 cap?

        • +7

This one's capped per transaction, not per customer, just remember to exit eBay and click through to them from ShopBack again in between purchases so each one can track.

          • @gotyourback: That’s awesome! Just to confirm if you do five $100 transactions. You get around $15 back each item? In total around $75?

      • Hi. Would you mind clarifying the rule on best offer items? If an item has a marked price but also includes 'or best offer' in the listing is this eligible if you pay the marked price?

        • Buy it now

      • Isn't accepting any codes a direct contradiction from the terms mentioned on your website?

"- As of 28th October 2019, Any purchases made with the use of Coupon / Voucher Codes are not eligible for Cashback (unless otherwise stated) and will track at $0.00
        - Items with Best Offer accepted prices and Auctions are NOT eligible for cashback
        - Cashback Not Eligible for Charity and non-profit items, eBay Plus membership & Travel
        - Cashback is calculated based on the Order Value, excluding any GST/Taxes & Delivery Fees
        - Only purchases made through eBay Australia will earn Cashback. Cashback is valid when gift cards are used as a payment method"

      • Hi rep, if the seller offers a price (not a best offer), does that count or is it excluded?

  • +12

Hey mates, just to confirm that during the flash sale period that all advertised coupons will be stackable with Cashback.

    • Does that include 10% Westpac Bonus with coupons?

      • +1

Yep that's correct, won't impact Bonus Cashback either during the flashie.

        • +4

Does ebayplus $80 sign up bonus stack with this?

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/730490

          • @Bearboi: Would also like to know

          • @Bearboi: I'm gathering the 10% bonus is what you spend on your Westpac card

            i.e. $90 on westpac card = $9
or if you did $50GC and $40 Westpac, then $4 only

If you use an alt payment method like an eBay voucher for 100% of the payment, you will only get the non-Westpac bonus

        • +1

Thanks GYB, I'm going to use PLUSDEC1 as its advertised.

          • -1

@Jessie Ryder: List of elible items?
Still seems like looking for something for the sake of it (for me)

    • +3

hey mate, do you got 1.5x pay or double pay for work late. lol

      • +2

Hahaha, you know OzB doesn't sleep

        • Hi @gotyourback can you please check your dm i have messaged you regarding ebay cashback issue i am facing

          • +1

@Unexplainable: Hey mate, sorry I haven't gotten back to you, I've been taking a little bit of time off over the holidays, but will get back to you ASAP.

    • Awesome! I can finally use the “To be updated” coupon I’ve been sitting on

    • +3

      Hey GYB,
Advertised coupons as in ones that exist currently? I’m specifically asking regarding the $10 off $30 spend:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/736140

Any advice on this one would be very much appreciated, cheers 👍😊

      • -1

Doubt it. That's not a generic advertised code.

      • +5

Indeed, the use of the word "advertised" makes it is as clear as mud as there are at least half a dozen places codes can be advertised, both generic and unique.

    • +3

How about the eBay plus monthly codes?

    • +3

Hi GYB, can you clarify "all advertised coupons"? What coupons would invalidate cashback? eg do you mean all codes shown on the ebay site will be honoured, but not those by individual sellers etc?

      • +2

        Indeed.

Simply saying "Advertised coupons" without defining "advertised coupons" tells us nothing.

    • +3

Hey, can you please clarify the eBay Plus members get $20 off purchase of $150 type codes are included or not? (Code that starts with PLSxxxxxxxxxxxx) thank you!

    • +1

Is SNSMD2 an "advertised coupon"? Unsure whether "advertised coupons" refers to coupons mentioned on Shopback site only or not.

    • +1

Does ebayplus $80 sign up bonus stack with this?

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/730490

      Please advise ASAP

  • +2

Might give SB eBay tracking another go with this. Not expecting much.

  • +3

They sold all those gift cards special for Westpac holders and now they want us to pay using Westpac again and not gift cards they sold. Aaaaaaah!

    • +1

According to GYB, partial payment of gift card and eligible Westpac card qualifies for full bonus cashback of the total eBay purchase.

      • Can I choose how much I can pay with gift card? Like the item is 20$, gift card is 50$. I want to pay 19$ out of gift card and pay the last with Westpac then.

        • +2

Nope, you have no control over how much of a GC is applied.

Best you can do is use lower value GCs to get a close as you can (Prezzee/Super Swap/Celebration Swap have a few $ options when swapping), any leftover balance from previous purchases/GCs can also be manually selected.

  • Valid for used items or item from private sellers?

    • +1

As long as it's a Buy It Now. Cashback does not apply to auction or Best Offer.

  • +3

can we pay $200 by westpac and the rest by gift card and still be eligible for both $20 (cashback and bonus)?

  • +13

$133.33 spend after any coupons to maximise the $20 cap, with $1 (or less) paid using a Westpac card to get the 10% bonus and the rest with discounted gift cards. 🤤

    • is it possible to only spend a certain amount from an ebay gift card if trying to split payment?

      • +1

celebration swap would do (min $5)

      • +2

No, eBay will use the maximum amount from any GC entered.

    • Thanks for doing the maths.

      Cue the smartie pants….

Just substitute these values into this formula blah blah blah blah

      • +2

        Isnt an easier way .15 times x= 20 so x= 20/.15 = 133.33?

    • Is $150 gc the best option?

      • +2

No, eBay will use the maximum amount from any GC entered and save the balance to your account. Ideal GC spend would be the balance of any previous GC used + any combination of denomination eBay GCs to as close to cart subtotal as possible without going over, and pay the remainder with Westpac card.

  • made my big purchases with all the gift cards and challenges yesterday, bought a dyson v15, this is frustrating for it to pop up now

    • +11

You spent $1300 on a stick vaccuum and worried about $20?

      • +8

I deal and gift card stacked it down to about $1080. I also have westpac cards.

This is ozbargain m8 - $40 is $40. If you aren't trying to hit maximum possible discounts, then what's the point?

        • +4

Better off not worrying about it unless going through the bs of cancelling it all and rebuying, then hoping cashback tracks.

What's your time and sanity worth.. guaranteed the item will be cheaper in the future anyway haha. Just enjoy your day instead and don't even worry about it. PS. 28 degrees shopper protection saves me a lot of grief when something pops up cheaper, and just get paid back the difference.

      • +2

I mean we routinely see people go wild over $2 and $3 bonuses so worrying about is $20 is absolutely in the realm of possibility, especially if it was just yesterday.

        • +1

The thing is to try and cancel that order and get a refund in gift cards would be an absolute cluster..
You still got to use the gift cards on something as well :P

          • +2

@G-rig: Oh definitely. I’m just pointing out that it’s not unimaginable for someone to regret not saving $20.

            • @Mintchip: True mate… people go ape over 2-3$ as you say

  • +1

Hey GYB, i have my ebay plus account specific $25 off $150 spend coupon. Will cashback be valid if i use that coupon?

    • all advertised coupons will be stackable with Cashback.

      Was it advertised?

      • Think the voucher is for meeting criteria on this offer from september

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/728999

      • +1

Advertised where? On OB? On TV? Some clarity around this would be nice.

        • If it's a coupon code sent to you privately on eBay, or a voucher code applying to your account, those aren't whatI'm referring to, but codes advertised publicly on eBay are what this refers to here. Outside of these flash periods where promo codes are stackable, only codes published on our website are stackable.

    • Spend 158.33 to get max discount if coupon is advertised…

  • Hi, I have a personal code which will take $10 off, does that mean I can use that as well to get the 15% cashback?

    • +1

Wondering what all advertised coupons mean…

      • +1

Most likely generic coupons, not unique ones like the monthly $5 eBay Plus ones or ones you get from completing promos.

      • EBay plus monthly codes maybe

        • No, it was the code ebay sent me for spending $80 in one transaction few weeks ago

      • Sounds like no personal/monthly eBay plus coupons are applicable.

What are the current advertised coupons anyway? Pretty convenient if there aren't any whilst this is on.

You just get something you were going to get anyway and enjoy 15% cashback, or don't worry about it. People are obsessed with stacking this on that and gift cards.. heap of effort ha

    • Yes, cashback tracks amount spent after any coupon. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/13164910/redir

  • 4th dealbot/shopback post on the front page within 24 hours - you guys are killing it today!

  • +3

The last two times I've done these ebay shopback deals, it has not tracked at all.
So I'm going to sit them out. Can't be bothered.

  • Is the $20 cashback once per account or you can have it on multiple transactions?

    • Per transaction

  • -1

What kind of Westpac card do I need to get these cashback deals?

    • Any

      • -1

        not any lol- see below

ps. Westpac don't have any fee-free accounts anyway so it's a pass
