  • man this is reaaaal sketchky … never got my cashback approved even after tracked cos of price matching

    • Did you end up contacting Cash rewards to enquire?

I assume they was given some unique discount code to get the price match which is why it was ineligible for cashrewards

        • Oh I actually misread that, I thought they said it WASNT tracked because of the price matching, didn't read that it was not approved.

    • I also missed out on $150 in cb cus Sony declined 3 transactions i made during the last promo.

I technically followed all rules but i just know it's gonna be a hassel getting caught between CR and Sony and it's gonna be a waste of time.

      • Did you do a price match and then claim? Or just brought through CR?

        • +1

didn't even have a price match. My guess is my purchase was from the excluded categories but the description of the excluded categories was vague

    • Why would Sony pay referral/affiliate money for a price match? Clearly the customer is dealing directly with Sony at this point.

    • "Cashback is ineligible on purchases made with exclusive discounts provided to employees, corporate and commercial partners of Sony Australia. Cashback is also ineligible for Sony X Members, Alpha Pro Support, Student and Educator program members, and Service Centres".

That's real dodgy of Cashrewards if they dont honor the cashback as price matching isn't in the above conditions.

I suspect that you'd win if you had the balls to take them to small claims court. Even a CLASS ACTION for deceitful Cashrewards practices?

It's a shame as I was going to buy a Sony 24-70 GM II with this 14%.

Personally, I'm going to cashout of Cashrewards and using shop back from now on. Currently Shopback is giving 5% back from Sony which is better than 0%.
      • That shouldn't be the case. The TOS don't mention anything about price matching. They should honour it.

  • Argh I just made a huge purchase this morning on the 12% cashback offer hours before they bumped it to 14%. I'm contacting Cashrewards support to see if they can manually adjust it for me. I could cancel my pending transaction and repurchase it again with Sony. It'll be quite the hassle but worth it overall.

When CR had 12% CB a couple weeks back my tv purchase didn't track. Only reason I went through CR/Sony was for the cashback. Had to chase it up through CR to have it manually added but we'll see in a couple month time if it gets approved or not. It'll be the deciding factor on whether I ever use CR again cause it's a lot of $$ to get cheated out of after doing everything correctly for it to track

  • Now says 12%. Still much better than nothing!

    • I was able to get JB to price match the 12% discount to avoid waiting for the cashback to come through. They also allowed me to use discounted JB gift cards to get a further discount.
