Was thinking of buying extra ram for my pc and am tempted to get another 2x16gb.

Looks like a very good price for ram. Buying single sticks is cheaper than getting the 2x16gb kit.

Cheapest ever according to camel 3x. https://au.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B07N3Z1RP8

    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B088KSS19N $2.25 more for the 3600 version

    • cl18 vs 16 though

      • Which is the better purchase?

        • -1

          Cl16

          • @bobzor: CL18 3600 is overall faster if using an AMD Zen3 system

          • @bobzor: No, 3200MHz at CL16 would have the same latency of 10ns as 3600MHz at CL18, while 3600MHz would provide better throughput.

The only advantage of the 3200/CL16 would be the price, but it's almost the same.

If you are adding extra ram to your existing system, make sure you are using the same speed and timings. The best would be to go with the same brand and model.

    • Even doing this seems like you’re still taking a risk. While I can’t speak for Patriot, Corsair have different “versions” of the same model, which could be any one of three manufacturers and any one of about nine revisions. I ran into this problem with their Dominator series. What tops it off is that the version is never advertised on websites, so you either need to phone the store and hope they can check or wait til it’s in your hands (in amazons case).
