Black & Decker 12V Easy Booster Cables Jumper Leads (BDBBC2CAU) - $5 + Delivery (Free with Kogan First) @ Kogan

140

Never used a 12v Cigarette Socket style jumper lead before but I like the idea of having to use that instead of normal jumper cables, especially in an embarrassing situation where you have to ask for a jump from someone haha.

For $5 delivered it's a no-brainer. It's something I'd rather have encase of an emergency, even though I do have Emergency Roadside Assistance, sometimes it's a matter of being up and running in a few minutes via the help of a good citizen compared to a few hours for a Roadside Assistance callout (Depending on how busy they are at the time).

5m Cable which is ample length in my opinion (Pulled out the good ol' tape measure just to compare).

Most of the reviews from what I can see are from Kogan and Dicksmith (Which is obviously also Kogan) so I'm assuming they're real. Google reviews are just the Kogan reviews.

For comparison, it's $46.00 from JB Hifi

i don't think it is for jump starting. maybe charging?

Not sure why you got negged.

These are not jumper leads. 10A max through a cigarette lighter…try starting a car with the same current as charging your phone … Aint gonna happen.

        So its a charging cable…sort of…

This is landfill at its finest.

        • It's a functional product.
It solves the problem of starting a car differently to jumper leads, but it's still a valid solution.
With this you'll just need to wait 10 minutes or so.

          Horses for courses.
Would love to have seen what size cable they use.

  • Now OOS - Got to be quick!

  • Does not look like it can jump start a car, going by review at amazon.

"I was really excited when I saw this product. I drain my car battery a lot because I somehow always forget to turn something off inside. Since, I don't like to drive around with jumper cables, I thought that this was a great alternative. I recently drained my battery, and thought I would finally give this a try. I plugged everything in like it was supposed to, and my car started to make a clicking noise. I didn't think much about it, and the interior light on the dashboard turned on, as well as the dome lights, but dim. I was happy because that was a lot more than what I was getting before. I waiting for about a half hour until the lights turned green. Then I tried to start my car, and NOTHING! I thought that maybe I did something wrong, so I tried to boost it again, and again I waited for the lights to turn green, and then I tried to turn on my car again, and NOTHING! Needless to say, I pulled out the jumper cables, hooked them up, and jumped my car with no problems. I think that this product is a complete waste of money. I don't think it could charge anything the size of a car. I was very disappointed to say the least! I thought Black and Decker would produce something better."

    • Can you share the link to the Amazon listing because I can't even find it on Amazon

    • Given the self admit to running the battery flat frequently the plates were probably buggered.
      User fault, not product fault.

The best this is ever going to do is slowly charge your battery from another car, if you have the other car running. You might struggle to keep it charging your car if it's flat, these days the cigarette lighter is often isolated after a period of key off time. Bit rubbish really.

Lol this will never jump start a car…

    • It's not supposed to… bad product name.
Will still work alright within it's limitations though.
