There's also a 4x4.0ah pack going for only $249 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/737384) and a lot of people are offering to go halfsies on that, works out to only $62.50 per battery!

or get this kit, hammer drill + 4ah battery + 2ah battery + standard charger for $132

    • Jesus, have they gone completely insane.

  • 4x 4ah batteries are $250, so 1 for $100 is not the best bargain.

I'm after 2. Anyone in Sydney want to share?

    • So that works out to $62.50 per batt, but without a charger.

If you're new to the system, grabbing some of the discount skins and don't have any batteries, this is a good deal to start you off. Though for another $30 you can get a drill, bag, and another 2.0ah batt from another commenters link, though that has a slower charger included.

  • I already have a 4ah battery, would the 6ah or 9ah make my ryobi mower more powerful? Or just last longer??

    • Last longer.

It's similar to a petrol powered device. Half a tank versus a full tank.

      • Voltage will drop according to remaining percentage. So there will be impact on performance I’d say?

      • Just so you know, this is wrong. There is a clear benefit to some tools from the larger batteries due to higher total discharge ability. Impact guns, chainsaws, etc.

    • Yes the bigger batteries make some tools more powerful.

The circular saw is one, the chainsaw is another.

    • The brushless lawn mower I looked at in Bunnings had the extra contacts on one of the battery terminals. This suggests that it would take advantage of the 6Ah or 9Ah (if it fits) HP batteries with the extra terminals.

In either case there are plenty of reviews on YouTube showing that more powerful tools benefit from the higher amp batteries regardless of the extra contacts as the batteries are capable of supplying more current draw.
