Do I need it? Damn I want it!

    • +4

ahhh young apprentice, you still havent mastered the art of will……. will you buy it? yes you WILL.

  • +1

I bought this kit a year or so ago for some lite reno, great kit!

  • Thanks OP, got the 3 piece kit. Good for gifting

  • Anyone got any experience with this circular saw?

I have the Ozito 165 Cordless and its pretty terrible.

    • +4

I've only used mine a handful of times, and never on anything substantial.

The main complaint is it's 150mm blade, which is an uncommonly small size. From memory, only Ryobi and Diablo make blades to fit, so you're left without many choices on teeth/kerf etc.

Put it this way; when I do have a serious circular saw task ahead of me, I'm buying the brushless.

    • +3

      it dose cut through thumbs.

  • +2

seriously killer deal…. If I was not in team yellow already…

  • +1

dang, would like the angle grinder and circular saw.

  • These might be brushed, but damn that's a good price. Even cheaper than Ozito kits, perfect for general home use.

I've been using Ozito mostly for years, but the batteries were failing even within months, so instead of buying any more was looking to change brands altogether, already have some Ryobi and those batteries have been great.

Sadly I was after brushless, and they removed the larger brushless kit, so went AEG instead (same parent company), but also purchased an AEG to Ryobi battery adaptor.

Though to be honest, had I not just purchased a kit, I'd have jumped on this one.

  • Circular saw for some reason on the box states is 42mm depth only.

New std alone saw same model is 52mm.

    • +1

I bought this kit a couple of years ago and circular saw is only 150mm. Standalone looks to be 165mm. Maybe it comes with a 165mm now.

      • +2

FYI all - it looks like they're clearing old stock as this comes with the older 150mm circular saw not the newer model. Still bought though

  • Good for wanna be tradies

    • -2

      Haha, Milwaukee sux!
      Can I get a neg?

      • +2

they don't suck but over rated IMO.

        • +1

They really aren't. One state' entire SES just switched over to them for a reason.

          • @[Deactivated]: Milwaukee is just too bloody good!! I'm switching from DeWalt to Milwaukee
Already done $800 worth of packout gear. It's revolutionary!!!

            • @[Deactivated]: Milawaukee's right angle impact wrench's are the (profanity) best, and so compact. It's a shame Ryobi doesn't have anything quite as comparable, or a proper compact normal impact gun like the Mil Stubbie.

This deals hard to pass by though. I was hoping to avoid investing in 2x systems buuuuuuuuuuut it is what it is.

    • What do tradies use?

      • -7

Makita, dewalt, Milwaukee. Only sissy soyboys use Ryobi. It’s not much better than ozito

        • +1

Lol. Sorry to hear that you require a particular brand of power tool to stop you from being a “sissy soyboy”…

        • -2

Downvoted by all the wanna be tradies

      • Most run Milwaukee packout kits as it's modular and easy to wheel around trade sites.
Unpacking and repacking is very easy. But you'll spend $1500 on these tools with Milwaukee.
Better to get a complete set of Milwaukee for $10,000 and tax write it off.

You'll make it back in around 3 months but it's YOUR TOOL for the jobs. It's like a gardener buying a $5000-$26000 mower. That's his tool.. make $500 - $700 a day.. You do the maths.

  • Any deal with brushless version of the tools?

    • What's the difference?

      • +1

        Longevity and more powerful basically.

  • +1

    Damn good
Each skin alone is usually $100 to $150, plus there's 2 batteries

    Great stater kit

  • +2

    Dear Santa…

  • +1

So cheap… I bought a drill for 169 already without battery!

  • Can I use impact to change tyre?

    • +3

No, not enough newts and metres.

    • +1

Yes should be fine. Just make sure when you put them back you hand tighten them first so you don't strip the threads.

      • I’d be surprised if this one can remove lug nuts. I have the 220nm version and it struggles, this one is only 180nm.

        • really? I got one similiar to this and it opens them easily. hmm…

        • Honestly, loosening the lug nuts should be the easiest part of the job. My 16 year old cousin can get undo cheap tier shop over tightening. Just use a long leaver, stand on it, and pull down on the car gently bouncing your weight up and down, as far towards the end of the leaver as you can.

Sure it's not fast, and if I were working at a tire shop I'd want a compressed air impact driver, but for a home job the 5 min loosening the lug nuts is pretty insignificant the harder part is actually putting them on.

  • Further discount with PowerPass?

    • Nah, it's the same price

  • Thanks OP! Snapped up. Even the regular price is great value compared to individual prices. This is an excellent deal.

  • Anyone buying the kit and wants to sell the angle grinder Sydney or adelaide

  • Keen to buy but have no use for drill or driver. Anyone want to split? I'm in upper north shore Sydney area.

    • Sadly I want the same

      • Where ru located

        • I'm in 2216. I already have a drill kit. You want the drill and battery?

    • Sorry too far

  • +3

Bought this kit years ago for $399 very happy with it, this is a great price !

  • FYI - It's still the 150mm blade on the circular saw.

  • If anyone is selling the circ saw or angle grinder near 3135, will pay $50 per

  • Selling the drill driver for $60 at 2093 if anyone wants

  • Hey, total noob here. How does this compare to Bosch Green like here?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/384874017130

My intention is to do a DIY build of a Cat Run for my cats with some pellet woods over the holidays.

I probably will need some Saw and Drill. I also require a stapler which I will buy for one of the systems.

    • +1

Both would be more than cromulent for your needs. Bosch green is like budget Bosch (Bosch blue is like primo-tradie qualitiy).

I personally would go for this Ryobi one since it has a such a large extensive range of other skins and ecosystem and is good for general home use. Also you get a seperate impact driver and drill so you can use both at the same time instead of the bosch one which screws the chuck in.

      • +1 for using the word cromulent from the Blackadder series
        Love it!! LoL

        • -1

          Simpsons but nice try champ.

    • -2

      Bosch all the way ,
This Ryobi stuff is toy quality gear.

      • +1

Bosch green IS toy quality. You are confusing green with blue.

        • -2

          Nah mate
Bosch Green is better than this garbage
          No offence
I can see why a cheap tool system appeals
          But don't fool yourself
          Or do
I don't really care if you have to buy a half dozen of these drills in your life
But, everyone I've ever seen who buys Ryobi and uses it

          It breaks
It's hot garbage and you don't even get what you pay for
But hey if you like lime green tools on your wall to look at and you can share your toys with other clueless people such as yourself then go for it

I'm sorry , I know people get locked in to this stuff and have to defend it , but I'm not trolling.
I'm posting to stop people buying into , what can I say , toy garbage ,
          It's a pitiful excuse for a tool brand .
I don't know how I can say it more forcefully, it's shit .
It's hot garbage , just buy something better that you only have to buy Once.
But don't try to tell anyone that these steaming piles of crap are anything close to ok .

          • -1

@Darth Bogan: I wasn't going to take offence until you started with the name calling. When you call ppl clueless you are just begging to be called out as a troll. Most people on this forum aren't tradies so brands like deWalt, Ryobi etc will do them just fine.

Go ask Bosch what's their warranty on green tools (hint: it's not 4+2 years). I'll take Ryobi over Bosch warranty any time (which also doesn't apply for trade use).

Also at least Ryobi don't change their battery design every few years forcing you to get new batteries and chargers when you get a new skin.

            • +1

@gadget: Same thing happened with The Stanley Fatmax range re: changed battery design.

  • +1

Thanks for posting. Paid for this at my local store and they are getting it in for me from a store 50ks away.

  • +1

Awesome, wanted to get mum a new circ saw. Now I get a driver and grinder and she gets a circ and drill. Cheerin. Thanks!

  • nice one OP…well done on finding these. bought the $132 kit and added the $177 3 piece kit as a deal….
the bunnings lady was trying to figure out why everyone was buying these all of a sudden…
i was her 5th click & collect ryobi kit and there was another straight after me …lol!

  • I'm considering this or the 3-piece set. With $88 more I'll get a 150mm saw and a bigger battery. I have had no need for a circular saw in the past 365 days. Is 150mm a big issue?
    Thanks

    • You can't really use the 2.0 batteries with some of the higher powered tools, they don't really have enough grunt. The circular saw is one such tool.

So for that reason alone I would only look at the kits with the 4.0 and 5.0 battery - because the day will come where you'll need one.

      • What if I already had a 4.0 battery for use with a whipper snipper?
My concern was about the 150mm saw - is that a big con?
        Thanks.

        • +1

What if I already had a 4.0 battery for use with a whipper snipper?

Then you are already set up to run any tool in the range 👍

My concern was about the 150mm saw - is that a big con?

In what way ? I have the circular saw and it's absolutely fine when paired with the bigger batteries. Obviously it won't cut as deep as a saw with a larger blade.

          • @Nom: Thanks. I saw some comments above saying that 150mm is weirdly small. Hence my concern.

  • +1

The circular saws and grinders are not that great on battery unless it's a top brand. Good for very light work only.

  • +2

Awesome deals on these ryobi packs i just did a 40 min ea way drive to get one from a store that had some left. $500 for this kit (brushless) is pretty good. The batteries alone are a couple hundred bux the saw $269 skin on its own. Pretty stoked. Had toolpro stiff from supercheap but range is small no saws etc so will flog those off

    https://www.ryobi.com.au/products/details/18v-one-hp-brushle…

    • That is a seriously good kit, as the brushless stuff almost never comes on special.
Very tempted, except I have everything except the circular saw.

Worthy of a deal on it's own!

      • Yeh i wanted the brushless. I valued it all individually and its just over $1500 worth, so at $516 its a solid buy. Didn't seem to be too many left around my region. Even in store it was ticketed at 6 hundred and something. Not sure if they messed up prices or just agressive discount with new models incoming or something. If you needed the extra batteries then cost of the saw skin and 2 batteries is around 500 and could sell off the rest and prob make a few hundred bux easy

    • I can't see this anywhere on Bunnings.

      • +1

Yeh i just tried and it isn't working anymore. I couldnt buy online or click collect. From the ryobi link i posted i went to where to buy then buy now under bunnings logo and i could see what stores said low stock etc most where unavailable few lock and couple said in stock which i rung. But bunnings site not displaying anymore id say stock is low everywhere and they taken it offline. Ring a store and they should be able to see who has stock left around their area for you.

        • Thanks. Will do.

          • +1

@CookieJacker31: What’s your post code, I’ll check on PowerPass for you?

Edit- just click this instead https://nrby.in/bunnings/0371558

            • @mapax: Thanks. Checked that and it's not looking good. I'm guessing the 1 unit available at the two stores in driving distance is phantom stock.

              • +1

@CookieJacker31: Give them a call but it’s highly likely.

              • +1

@CookieJacker31: Worth a call and ask them hold if its there. The store i got mine (Brendale qld) had 2 snd they showing 1, i saw the 2nd one when i picked up mine so isn't phantom stock in that case. Easy to call or if you know someone near a store that has some get them to pick you up 1. It's a ridiculous deal, worth the effort $1000 off!

                • @Copeland: I finally scored one! Duck yeah! Took a few stores, the nearest stores that have 1 listed didn't have it. Ending up finding one about an hour drive away. Long drive but I can claim it's a Christmas visit to my aunt and uncle who leave near the store. Win win

                  Thanks guys

                  • @CookieJacker31: Nice work.

                  • @CookieJacker31: Nice! Yeh i did a 80 min return trip to get mine. Well worth it for such a good deal, its a great kit very happy with mine. Enjoy!

                    • @Copeland: I noticed the box didn't have brushless written on it. I wonder if that is why it had not sold out immediately.

Good thing I rang up, someone came in looking for it 1 hour after I called "dibs". It would have been gone before I could get there. Probably some poor ozbargainer (Rothwell Bunnings).

                      • +1

@CookieJacker31: Yeh that got me too i thought the lady had fkd up and got wrong one but they definitely brushless woulda thought ryobi would put it clear on box, maybe you're right woulda sold quicker if was clear and marked at $516. Also doesn't say it comes with blades etc but does I'd gone picked them out and 1 lady was onto it and said it came with. Enjoy mate its a cracker price

    • Any chance asking which Bunnings Store you found this 6 pc brushless kit?

    • Nice work Copeland and Mapax.

Scored I think the last, or one of the last, 6pc brushless kits in the Sydney region thanks to Mapax's link.

Most that are showing stock, including the 4 in Kingsgrove, don't exist.

Got the last one in Kirrawee, so if you're after one don't go there.

  • If anyone's looking to split this in the Brisbane/Ipswich area, send me a DM

  • Managed to a grab a pack from Bibra Lake, WA. Thanks OP! No discount on PowerPass btw.

  • I'm just after the circular saw, angle grinder and charger. Anyone want to split?

  • Deal gone. Back to $399 now.

    • Highpoint had about 5 on display with the old price today. Scanned at 399 but they still honored the sticker price and took the label down.
