Qantas Platinum Credit Card: 0% for 20 Months, $149 Annual Fee, 0.6 Points/$, $0 90-Day Int'l Travel Insurance @ Bendigo Bank

50

I was checking out this other Bendigo Bank credit card offer - Ready Credit when I noticed this deal which may work out better for people chasing the longer interest free (20 months vs 18 months), want to collect Qantas Frequent Flyer points, and are not looking for international spend.

Points earn is low (0.6 per $) however comparable to other non-Amex cards, and the $149/year annual fee may be a killer for some, although if you're holding a $30k balance on this, it still may be worth it for those additional two months of interest free + Qantas points. Remember, this is not financial advice, I'm just some rando on the Internet.

No bonus points and a fee. No thanks.

    • What’s the best atm with bonus points and low fee?

      • +1

Probably this one includes 24 months interest free but with 1% balance transfer, 70,000 qantas points when spending 4k within 90days and reduced annual fee of $49 if you're already a Westpac customer or $99 if not.

        • With the Qantas bonus points, would it matter if I had a Qantas credit card in the last 12 months which I paid off and closed after receiving the points?

          • +1

@jdreamer: Only if it was also with Westpac… if it was a different company then no problems

            • @4foxache: Thank you! I just reread the T&C and it did mention the same. Appreciated it.

      • NAB - 70,000 points, low spend, and refundable annual fee.

No Fee if you spend $2,500/m, 70,000 bonus points.

        • Commbanks is one of the poorest value cards on the market.

St George and others are better

          • @adrianhughes1998: From my research I think this one suits me better than others, especially with no fee with the spend. No international fees is a bonus too. Unless you can find something equivalent?

            • @OzLocutus: In this market of reduced signup bonuses and increased min spend then yes, but normally they're pretty much down the bottom of the heap.

          • +1

@adrianhughes1998: The CBA one can net you 70,000 QFF for $30.
The same with St George is $49.

            • @cook99: Maybe in this market of reduced signup bonuses, it is, but normally they're not.

        • Thanks, just applied and approved. Needed another bank to churn, CBA generally didn't have anything worth churning but this isn't too bad and can be my international travel card next month.

        • I had the commbank low rate card. $1500 spend for $300 cashback. I thought 20% of spend in cashback was the best deal going.

  • if my existing bank sends me an email offering Balance Transfer will my Credit Score take a hit again if i accept their offer ?

    • +2

Does it really matter if it does? Credit scores basically mean nothing in Australia.

      • -4

It does if you are getting a mortgage or future credit card application

        • +1

It really doesn't, nearly all banks don't look at your credit score at all, nor do they care what your number is. This is unless you live in America.

        • +2

In my experience with the mortgage application they only worried about the liability I had on each card - not the score

But I don’t have extensive knowledge here
