Unable to find any deal compared to the $10 - $15 weekly sims from colesworthworks

It’s probably abit too expensive. $30 would have been the sweet spot to compete with Woolworths and boost etc

  • tell them the price son the price and the offer son in the title

  • I wonder if this support Telstra One Number. Could be a good cheaper alternative to Optus, Vodafone, Telstra plans if it does.

    • Doubt it (though hope so), as this isnt available to telstras mvnos to my knowledge

  • This is actually pretty terrible. Its 30gb+20gb on activation then first 2 recharges. Max 200gb databanking. Only 30 day to expire from last recharge.

You could just get belong, which uses telstra for either $35 for 40gb or $45 for 100gb. Both running double data for 12 months. It's month to month with 24hr cancel, so basically same same as these silly 30 day prepaids.

Only advantage of JB over Belong would be JB get the full Telstra network. But then may as well go boost

Doesn't seem like JB have "launched" anything, it's entirely run by Telstra, it's a Telstra plan, you'll be getting support from Telstra, it's just got the JB Hi-Fi logo on the SIM pack and excludes Telstra's services like Telstra Plus

  • Just wait for the cashback sims from Boost, at the very worst they are free. Often make a couple of $$ or more. Won't get 50 Gig of data, but usually get 40 Gig of data. If you need more data buy 2 of them, but do it separately.

    • With Boost, do you need to port out to say Kogan, etc and can port back almost immediately as a “new” customer OR is there a waiting period?

      • Sorry, not sure. I've never needed to do it.

        • +1

I got this from store rep - no period, porting in is counted as a new customer.

I need international calling, 300 minutes may be ok. I will stick to Boost for now.

  • Does it get 5G access?

    • apparently prepaid dont get access to 5g (was told this by a jbhifi employee)

So "Full Telstra network" in the description is misleading?

    • From faq on page-
Your JB Hi-Fi Mobile Pre-Paid Plan will have access to 4G & 3G on the Telstra mobile network.

You may notice when you activate your JB Hi-Fi Mobile Pre-Paid Plan that you will be involved in a 5G Trial, granting you access to the 5G network at no extra cost. To access 5G you will need to be in a 5G enabled area and be using a 5G Device.

      Trial ends 31/1/23

  • Where's the JB Hi Fi voucher?

  • -1

I should have gone to specssavers

  • Not a deal - as others has said, officeworks sims are much better value. Also, this plan is just telstra under the jb brand.

  • +1

Might be a ploy to scare people into signing up for a 24-month, $99/mth, $1,200 voucher plan :).

  • and woolies even have 5g in some areas.

  • +1

limited variety of plans and none for those who don't use/spend much on their phone

  • can I change to this plan from the good guys telstra plan?
