Disney Plus Yearly Membership: TRY₺649.90 (~A$52) + ₺33.29 (A$2.57) Admin Fees @ Disney Plus via Turkey (No VPN Required)

While the previous deal was marked expired due to the increase of Disney Plus memberships, I thought it would be a great idea to re-share this workaround (since it’s still ~60% cheaper than Aus membership ($139.99)1 :) ) and credit to the original OP and Pricebeat for their methods


For Android users:

  1. Create new Google account on phone
  2. Delete cache in Google Play Store (not sure if needed)
  3. Select new account in Google Play Store
  4. Add payment method and select Turkey as Country.
  5. Uninstall Disney+ if you have it installed.
  6. Open Google Chrome/browser on your phone in an incognito window. Set your window to desktop mode.
  7. Search Disney+ on Google Play store in your browser.
  8. Log in on new account and remote install Disney+ to your phone
  9. Open app on phone and pay in TRY

For iOS users:

  1. Create Turkish Apple ID

Go to https://appleid.apple.com/account
Follow the onscreen steps. In the mobile number section use your Australian mobile number (Very important to use a valid number or risk losing your ID). Choose country as Turkey. Then follow through the rest to create your ID. Login into Apple ID on a browser. Go to this link to enter a Turkish address to your Turkish Apple ID and save.

  1. Go to Settings on your iPhone/iPad > Your Name > Media and Purchases > Log out from your current ID and login with your Turkish Apple ID

  2. Go to App Store and download Disney Plus app > A pop up may appear to confirm your details > Choose payment method as “None”

  3. Buy TL iTunes gift cards from TurGame (50TL/TRY x 13 gift cards) > Choose currency as TL/TRY and pay with international transaction fee free card.

  4. Redeem iTunes gift cards(apple.co) by going to App Store > Account (located at right top corner) > Redeem gift cards or code.

  5. Open Disney Plus App > Sign Up

      • Just resubbed using the exact same account - didn't want to have to bother setting up new profiles etc again.

  • Signed up in for the annual plan in feb through Android and all was good. Lasted about 2 months and this morning I got an email that it has been cancelled. No idea what suddenly changed and why it got cancelled. It does say in the email I will receive a full refund, but I somehow don't think that will be the case

              When I open the Disney app and click renew subscription it only gives me option to pay $139.99/year

                @talismansa: I had the same thing. Had to remove the Disney app and go through the steps again to remote install via incognito browser. Right currency came up then. It looks like I'm getting the full amount refunded, so decided to go with monthly payment and see how it goes. Only a $10 difference between monthly and yearly sub so not too big a difference.

    I purchased in June last year and had no problems until now. If I read this correctly, I'll be fully refunded. Disney would rather give my money back and drop me as a subscriber than provide the service cheaper.

              Yes, because Google said they were refunding my subs after I've gotten 10mths out of a 12mths sub. It's Google handling the refund, not Disney. It's Play Store t&c's, if they cancel a sub, they must refund the full amount.

              I'm not sure how you paid, but if Google tells me they're refunding, then I assume they will, just as they have every other time.

    I received the same cancellation and refund notification. Also received a push notification from the bank that refund has been processed and should be in my account within 5 days.

  • Canned also. Wonder if we should try with a Wise card? Does anyone have experience using them for this? I got one a year ago for PS+ and haven't used it since, would happily volunteer my card to the community if it's useful.

      My disneyplus was cancelled this morning, refund landed in my wise account a few minutes ago.

  • On android, it’s not giving me the option to resubscribe. Only says “it seems like you’re not subscribed. Please subscribe to Disney+ to start streaming” without any resubscribe button. Then via the website, comes up only in aud pricing.

    Any workaround for this?

        How long have you been using it before you need to wait for another mod?

        • Often, you can also find netflix mod, Spotify…

          For me the issue is that I need them in the TV otherwise everything would be free.

    • Google team can't help with this as they can only issue a refund to the original payment method. Gotta reach out to the Disney+ support team instead

  • Resubscribed at TRY649 which is almost double the price i paid back in June 2022. Lets see if this sustains.

  • Thinking about it. It's probably related to the announced crackdown on sharing accounts. Whilst we weren't sharing, it might look like we were as we had a Turkish sub, using in Oz.

  • Ah boo, and I removed the credit card from the Turkish Google Play account too.

    No refund for me I guess, ~$30 for 10 months is already good.

    • Hey mate, surely removing the card should not affect you receiving a refund to whatever card was used at the time. Do you know for certain you're not?

      • I removed the card right after signing up, in case it somehow overcharged me and now they can't refund me anyways. I'm not going to bother reattaching it (yes, I've checked my card and it's showing nothing).

        • Hmm refunds usually don't hit credit cards immediately. Does your cancellation email from Google tell you more information? Such as "you will be refunded to the original form of payment?" (Im asking because I don't have access to the google account I used so cant check myself)

  • My subscription was cancelled, but I had the option and was able to renew my subscription at the higher price of 649.90 TRY. My cc was charged 51.23 AUD

    • What cc did you use? - BW Platinum and Comm bank gold didnt go through, saying payment method doesnt match region

  • I checked my purchase history it showed Dec 64 try monthly. Then in Jan $0 annual, Then Feb $649 try. Only the Jan $0 showed cancelled. They did not refund the $649 try Feb.

    I may need to contact Disney or Google to get reactivated or balance of refund?

    Is anyone else getting the "Change Payment Method" error when trying to renew this using CC? Something about payment not matching region :(

  • Weird. I also experienced my membership being cancelled, however I only signed up using this method on March 20. I was able to resub again at the same price with no issues whatsoever, so must have been a blanket thing?

  • same here. I got cancelled my 1-year sub after 10 months and said ₺349,90 to be refunded.
    I resubscribed at ₺64,99/month for now, didn't have any issues. Didn't have to go through all the steps, I just had to click resub.

    • I didn't get that resub button. Did you VPN to Turkey?

      • when I opened the app, it asked me to sign up so I did, using the same login and password. There were options for selecting either monthly or yearly so I opted for monthly this time around. I didn't use VPN but I used a Chromebook to access Google Pay and Disney Plus app. Chromebook has been great for setting up payment methods and subscriptions since I had trouble using iPhone/Macbook

  • Mine got cancelled too. It only shows renewal price in AUD though.

    I tried reinstalling using the Google Play android account and VPN to Turkiye and I just get error code 73 when starting the app: Disney+ is only available in certain regions etc… It wouldnt give me the option to go past that screen. (using Cyberghost VPN)
