boil to 100c and cooling to 85c

      • interested in what temp it comes out… important when brewing coffee.

says on it's flyer… "perfect cup of coffee" …. sure.. instant coffee maybe.

no waiting = continiously on = electricty hungry = high power bill.

Low starting cos like a printer

    • Not true.

There are 'no waiting' ones where it heats the water on demand. Look up 'instant hot water' e.g. https://westinghousesmallappliances.com.au/product/instant-h…

Works the same way as a espresso machine where it passes the water through a heat pump to create instantaneous hot water.

Which doesn't require a water reservoir to be constantly heated.

      • Im pretty sure this one doesnt use heat pump, most likely constant power.

        • I'm sure as well.

This device might be good for functions. Hopefully no one is running it 24/7 in their kitchen.

      • That's a different type of product.

  • I bought KMART one but this one has 5L capacity for almost the same price.

  • Smart kettle from kogan is far cheaper, and if youre picking a temperature below boiling it doesnt take that long to reach it.

I have this type of hot water dispenser and instant hot water dispenser (only heat the water when needed). I much prefer the later due to less energy used.

  • So it's an urn of water not hot enough for tea, but will make a luke warm coffee. No thanks.

Look up Breville Hotcup on Amazon. They're really good.

    • Not sure that you should be making tea with water that's hotter than 85C anyway.

      • What, you need 100c to make proper tea.

    • Actually different types of tea need different temperatures. I am not expert, but according to most websites, eg black tea 95-100 degrees, green tea 75-80 degrees.
